Best skirt length?

Sometimes my outfits look completely different to me when I see them in a photo. I thought this outfit was quite nice, but now I am wondering about the length of the skirt. Is it a little long? It feels kind of dowdy actually. Not at all what I was going for.
I'm trying to tone down the color combos a bit, as I think my desire to think creatively may have been leading to poor choices.
Finally, I did not think it was fair to crop Shelly out of the photo after Buster got so much positive press the other day!
So, what do you think about the outfit?

I actually really like the skirt length Kyle, for a full skirt I like it a bit longer. The shirt is very pretty. And Shelly is absolutely adorable!

Hi Kyle, your dogs are too cute. Do they come out when they see teh camera? My dog (RIP) used to turn around every time she saw a camera. I probably have 10 photos of her bum, to every one of her face.

Anyway...about the skirt--I like it a lot. I think you have the height to wear that fullness and length. I would like to see it with a more fitted top too. Love the shoes!

Shelly is so beautiful, as are you. Those shoes are KILLER!
The skirt length seems good. You are standing at an angle where it is a bit difficult to see if it shows your leg shape to the fullest advantage. It looks good though I can tell that.

The skirt is perfect! The top is what’s making you feel dowdy. It needs a waist belt.

Love the poodle! and the shoes. Skirt is great and the right length. I echo Angie's comment on your blouse. I would also try a different color necklace so you don't have more than 2 items the same color at one time.

There have been some amazing shoes posted today, including these. Wow! I was going to say that the top, not the skirt, is the issue. BUt Angie took care of that already.

I noticed the same thing about the difference between what I see in the mirror and what I see in the pictures I have been trying to take. They say TV adds 10 pounds. I feel like the camera adds at least five. Do others have a similar experience?
