Belted or unbelted

I bought this top a few weeks ago for my 1st attempt at skinnies.
The more i wear it the more i'm not sure about it. I saw a belt today but still not sure.

It's a very busy, feminine top. The contrasting belt with butterfly clasp just seems too much. Others with a more educated eye to these tops will be better able to give you an opinion. I do like that the belt shortens the top, which seems too long without it. The wide bottom ruffle is what I think is bothers me with this top.

This top seems waist-conscious enough to wear without a belt. I like it belted, but not with that belt, I think it needs a simpler belt without much embellishment since the top has enough textural pattern. Beautiful top by the way, I love the way it flares on the bottom and I like that you paired it with brown boots. Thumbs up!

The boots aren't very clear in the piccie but they are grey. I never thought of wearing the outfit with brown i've got some with a wedge which i'll try thanks x

When you pair it with the skinnies, I like it better unbelted I think. I agree with BlondeAmbition though, a simpler belt might work.
Joy has a point too, maybe the wide bottom ruffle is not ideal for the tunic over skinnies look?

Yes, I think the wide, snug belt gives it the shape of a little girl's party dress. And there is enough going on in terms of pattern that a decorated belt seems to compete rather than to complement. I like it unbelted, but am wondering what a slimmer, plainer belt would look like.

P.S. This tunic may be better over plain leggings -- have you tried that look?

Haven't tried it over leggings am a bit thigh conscious and thought it was a bit short. I will however give it a go and post piccies x

I agree - wear it unbelted. It's got a very flowy, unstructured vibe, and the belt just throws that vibe off.

Beautiful blouse, btw, and even non-belted it still gives you a great shape.

I agree with the unbelted verdict and think this is a very flattering look on you. I like the belt though, and it might look great with a plainer top.
