Becky's Black Knee-High Boots Search

So far, I have ordered 6 different pairs of black knee-high boots; only 3 pair would zip up over my short but muscular calves (the widest part of the shaft falls above the widest part of my calf). So here are front and side view pics of the survivors:

The Trotters are probably the most comfortable, and I do like the buckle detailing. However, I'm worried about the loose fit around the ankle. I have wider calves, but my ankles are fairly average, so I think this will be an issue regardless. I think I do remember Angie saying on another thread that this is an OK look? The Blondos fit better around the ankle than the other two, but aren't as comfortable. The Siamantos seem too loose around both the calf and the ankle.

I guess I'm sure about the way any of these look on me, but since I have extra-wide feet, wider calves (but not wide enough for a wide-calf size), and short legs, I may have to settle for less than perfect. What are your thoughts on these boots?

I vote for the Trotters. Those fit your calves great and the buckle detail is cute. You are planning on wearing these with skirts and dresses, right?

By the way, I love those patterned tights, SO pretty!

Yes, Ana, I plan to wear these boots with skirts and dresses. I don't own any skinny jeans, and most of the boots I've tried only *barely* fit over my calves, let alone over jeans!

Well, Angie, it is always interesting to see what others prefer before you weigh in with the expert opinion! Let's give them a while to consider....

My preference are the second ones...Dorset. I think they fit you the best, and I like the height of the shaft the best. I do like the buckle detail on the first, but not enough to offset the way they fit on the ankle.

I like the second pair for looks but you say they are the least comfortable so my second choice is the trotters.

Trotters get my vote hands down. The shaft length and fit is perfect. Sweet buckle detail is a bonus. Enjoy your fab new boots! They look fabulous.

My vote is for the Trotters; they look super. The second ones are too loose at the top, I think. Love the hose!!

I like the look of the second pair the best, but I know comfort (or the lack of it) can affect how often you wear them. Enjoy your boots after so much work to get a great pair!

Thanks, ladies, for all the feedback! I am happy the general consensus was the Trotters, as they are the most comfortable of the lot, and my favorite (aside from the ankle issue). Does anyone have boots that fit perfectly in the ankle? Perhaps people with thin calves who wear a narrower shaft boot?
