I love 1/2 on you; looks fantastic!

And I love the whole idea of bracelet sleeves.

BUT...as someone who lives in a cold climate at least half the year, I have to say it might be impractical. Yes, you can get long gloves, but long gloves don't exactly cut it if you are talking about 30 below. So it really depends how and when you want to wear it, I suspect.

Agreeing with the fans of 1/2 for the silhouette reasons mentioned...but also with the voices that say, "only if practical given Alaska weather and life AND you will commit to wearing it over other jackets."

If it's basically a throw on for errands/get-togethers where you are going from car to building then it should be okay, yes?

ps I have a vintage wool coat with 3/4 sleeves that only comes out for 30s and below weather (vs "30 below," brrrr) and I find long gloves both practical and fun. So I wouldn't let sleeve length stop you if it you can make it work otherwise.

Una - we live where can get serious cold too (I know you win, but we get COLD, anyway. . .) and I plan on this being fall and spring. It has no insulation, just lining.

I also realize that the outfit has to handle a leopard coat (i.e. plain bottom half and no wild sleeves sticking out), but I have other mid-season coats for those occasions and I bet you do too.

I appreciate its longer length for covering the tunic top, or the longer sweater, or even a blazer hem. I LOVE its length over a black pencil skirt - so retro, glam

I wouldn't want to wear it every day, I want to wear it a couple times a week and feel extra fab and I DO want to perk up my coat wardrobe -- 'cuz we sure have to wear them a lot :-\

#1--get opera length gloves in a yummy color. how about red!
