(The title is for Nicole.) This isn't really a question-- it's just an expression of frustration in my search for booties because I haven't had much luck. I've tried several styles but I'm finding that mostly they are highly uncomfortable. Apparently, my feet are fussy when it comes to boots because the whole foot is contained and this allows for constraining the foot in an awkward way. I can't do super high and I can't do stilleto heels very high. I bought these this weekend because they are suprisingly comfortable and stable and were on sale.

But I'm torn because something in me is resisting the look of high heeled oxfords. I think I find them too fussy.

The only other pair I've tried that I like and is decently comfortable (once again suprisingly) are these (I don't even think they are true booties):

but the price tag is rather steep. In fact, I suspect the booties I would like and are comfortable on are the expensive side.

Are you looking for "8 hour shoes" or 4 hour or less?
I like the look of the first one and don't think it is too fussy for you because it is all the same colour.
But boy, are those heels high!

I think they're both amazing. But whoa, they're both really high. What's your definition of high, Patience? More power to ya, girl! (Does the first one qualify as a bootie?)

I used to have a pair like the first link in the early 90s, but with a lower and thicker heel. I wore them ALL the time. I'm thinking I want another pair now that they're coming back in style.

I actually think I like the more subtantial heel with booties. Not sure what it is about that.

I do prefer the lower and chunkier heel for a more casual look also. The Naturalizer and Aerosoles are looking good. They look like they would feel good to walk in. Bouncy.

I don't have much to say about the booties though. I agree with you that booties in general can be uncomfortable. Personally, I even think they look stiff. This will be a fashion trend I pass on.

Really, I don't know what I'm looking for ;). Something to wear to work so they need to be 4 hour shoes. I'd actually prefer a lower heel. The ones I linked to are high but not as high as some others I've seen and as I said, surprisingly comfortable.
