How is the new Spring season unfolding in your neck of the woods? Trends, colours, shapes? I know it's still a little early and there is lots of Winter sale merchandise, but I'd appreciate a quick glance through your eyes :0)

Here in Portugal I see lots flowy, feminine dresses and blouses, in tan, beije, white, I see some prints with small flowers but no polka dots, no strong colors, everything is pastel, nude and neutral.

As to style I see a lot of bohemian looks, long tunics, nude leather vests, long cascading cardis, silk straight dresses (hidding the waist).

The spotted Macs are so cute.

I would also add blush tones as the other big trend. Not beige so much but very light muted skin tone pinks.

Double denim is another trend and also cullottes.

I work about a 3 minute walk from Regent Street Angie, so I'm happy to go and take some photos of shop windows for you.

Also strong shoulder details, not necessarily shoulder pads, but ruffles or hardwear details, especially on dresses.

Underwear as outerwear.

Florals - a lot of larger prints, but also some ditsy prints.

A couple of weeks ago there were a lot of dresses featuring geometric, laser type prints, but they seem to have disappeared.

Old school satchels - the Alexa bag by Mulberry is being heavily copied. ASOS is doing a few bags in yellow and coral.

I did walk into Mango the other day and wondered if I had been transported back into the 1990s, but then checked and I was still 31....

What I've been seeing lately in Ireland in Irish, British and Euro stores are:

Lots and lots of florals- as Fiona said, they are mostly ditsy, twee floral patterns which remind me of my granny's china collection. I've seen florals in both dusky neutrals and in brights. I'll be passing on this trend though as they make me look way too young.

Navy as the neutral of choice and lots of other shades of blue to accompany it. I love the return of navy as it's my favourite neutral

Nautical trend + gold coloured hardware + red

Return of the boho trend as well with loads of fringes and use of earthy colours.

Higher necklines- these aren't up to the collarbones but there is certainly less cleavage in these tops.

Sheer material has also made a return in shops such as AWear and New Look and have often been combined with higher necklines and hiding the waistline.

I've seen loads of stripes and polka dots.

The other trend which is going strong is nudes in shades of cream, beige and the lightest of pink.

Structure is still important as Mad Men-esque dresses continue to sell, and boyfriend blazers and cropped blazers are selling like hotcakes.

I haven't been in too many shops lately, so I'm not quite up to speed at the moment. What I've seen in shop windows:

- lots of coral, black and also a darkish pink (which I haven't seen anywhere online in international stores), not a lot of turquoise yet at the moment
- cascading cardigans (yay!! glad they're still around)
- beige, beige and more beige (makes me sad;-)
- ditsy florals here too, very eighties (silhouettes in general too), but not in a good way in my opinion, it looks quite old-fashioned
- hemlines still quite short (as a taller lass, I'm really looking forward to the longer skirts and dresses you are predicting for Autumn 2010 Angie)
- boho elements everywhere
- leggings are still going strong (the denim kind has finally arrived here too)
- a few stripes (I need more!) and not a polka dot in sight (bummer)
- I don't think I've seen a tunic button-down shirt yet either, do hope they will be around soon
- some fun banded tops

No idea about footwear yet.
It's great to read everyone's take on this, but now I want to go shopping!!

Thanks Dawn and Inge. Splendid feedback! Blush pink is making a statement here too – but colours in America on the whole seem a little brighter than in Europe at the moment. So much coral and turquoise! Also still loads and loads and loads of new stock moto jackets, leggings, cage heels, tunics and boyfriend blazers.

Cathy, the pretty shoes you’ve ordered are definitely sandals in my book and not clogs – don’t you think?

Nertz, I didn't even see this yesterday- how I could have overlooked it, I'm not sure.

Anyway, everyone else has done such a fab job that I don't have much to add. I'm also seeing the small prints, the blush pink and navy, the stripes and polka dots. Also higher necklines (like Dawn said) but still with v. short hemlines. Stores near me have lots of dove grey too, which I don't think has been mentioned yet. It looks like a good season.

We see a lot of the same trends here in Norway - ditsy floral prints, nude colours, coral, the maritime look (stripey tops), moto jackets in a variety of shapes, materials and colours, the leggings/jeggings/treggings still going strong, often combined with long, loose and/or draped tops. The trench is a big trend, as is pale denim. Regarding shoes, there are a lot of chunky/stacked heel gladiator-type sandals, as well as ballerinas and wedges.

Cathy, Topshop have just started selling the shoes you ordered but their colours are limited to black and brown. I love the silver and hope they are comfortable.

Julie -- I like those Topshop ones! They're a little different than the pair I ordered, which are lower and braided. I ordered mine from Yoox; the silver was from last season so was on sale. I'm getting them on Thursday and will report back! Are you going to go for some clogs?

Angie -- Yes, I think they are more sandal-like than clog like. Although the heel, being wooden and clunky reminds me for clogs!
