I've been having a crazy year so far, and it just occurred to me that OMGOSH, tomorrow, I'm getting on a plane to San Francisco to present to a leadership summit thing for Burning Man.

In the event you're (totally likely) not familiar: Burning Man is a giant monster art event that takes place in the Nevada desert every year the week of Labour Day. I'm talking 60,000 people large descend on the desert and create an art- and music-filled temporary city, that they completely dismantle and take away with them when it's all done. These are intensely creative people who carry "radical self expression" as a central cultural tenet, with a heavy personal investment in their community and the culture that has grown up around it.

I'm pretty involved in the community, at a regional level, which is why I'm presenting (super exciting and a really big honor to be selected). I want to look polished and marginally respectable since I'm presenting, but I also want to make sure I'm not "over-done" - I also need to be relate-able as part of the community and not create a sense of distance.

That's where you come in! What on earth should I wear to hit all of these notes? I will be rubbing shoulders with major players from the community from across the globe, and I'm terrified to be the corporate bumpkin from North Carolina.
