Just wondering what you think will be the upcoming trends for 2015. I did a quick google search and it said 1970s inspired stuff -- caftans, flared trousers etc. Is this right?

Thanks, Angie. I'm liking a lot of that stuff. I just ordered a black midi skirt--first time I've worn that length in years. Once it gets here, I'll decide if it needs to be hemmed up or not. I couldn't tell from the description; Nordstrom provided the same length for the petite size as they did for the regular size. The skirt has movement, and I'm looking forward to wearing it.

Gucci IS the '70s

Although, I feel the '70s thing has been conjured more strongly in the recent past than what looks to be coming for this year. This year's '70s retro seems slightly less iconic to me... or less glam rock anyways.

I've been looking at a new Nordstrom catalog. I like how they've styled quite a number of outfits in it. It says, looking toward spring: active sandals, sporty chic, retro sneakers, colourful graphics. That's what I remember off the top of my head.

I really find sporty chic attractive, but I don't know how to bend it to Quirky Waif Country Punk.

Based on the 70's inspiration, do you think jewelry will be making a come back too? I always picture large gold cuffs or necklaces with that era.

About a week ago, I ordered a long (petite size, of course) London Fog trench coat that's essentially the same color and style of one I wore back in the '80s. I loved it because it had a warm, zip out lining and was long enough to keep me relatively warm (depending on the temp) on my daily walks to and from the office. I look forward to getting it, as I already know it will work.

I look forward to acquiring the perfect bootcut pants for me. I, too, prefer to wear them with 1.5" to 2" heels.

Does anyone besides me remember back to the late '70s when people would say you were expecting a flood if your pants were too short? We also called them high waters. This is because wider width pants need to be longer. Angie has done some great blogs about PPL.

The Pre-Autumn-Winter 2015 collections seemed quite full of 1970s stuff but it doesn't excite me personally. I personally prefer less retro, more new (or new-seeming to me at any rate!) stuff. Of course retro stuff can sometimes be styled in ways that make it look current -- I have many an ancient piece found in charity shops, and some of my grandmother's clothes and so on, but style them completely differently from how they were styled in the past -- but it wasn't that many years ago that the 1970s were in again, and I still have the high-waisted flares I bought at the time, but I don't feel in the least bit like wearing them now. Hmmmm... seems like another thing I should be editing out of my wardrobe!

This revival might just be perfect for me. I feel very comfortable in these styles, although in my early 20s it was much more hippy chic, these are really nice "grown up" office appropriate and more sophisticated options.
