Ask Angie: has your poison eye changed?

Angie, I am curious if your poison eye has changed on the subject of pant lengths, particularly in regard to ankle length pants with booties. I haven't worn this silhouette yet and am not sure I will be comfortable with rolled jeans and booties. Do I let skin show when seated or can socks make an appearance? Anyone is welcome to chime in here.

I have a very complicated relationship with cropped pants, Lynn. I still have poison eye for a very particular cropped pants look. Like this with the low vamped pumps:

I love the look when the cropped pants are tapered at the hems and the footwear is self colour and high vamped. Like this:

BF jeans - and any style of pant that is narrow at the hems - and can be rolled is brilliant to my eye, because they rolls add structure. You can further adjust the roll and the length of the shaft of the bootie to create more flatting proportions.

I like the tapered legs in this post a lot more than the wider legs, but the self colour high vamped heeled bootie REALLY helps elongate the leg line:

Thank you Angie! In one of these posts you listed, you said you didn't like your socks to show. That must mean that you don't do this in colder weather since you run so cold. I have new cognac flat Frye booties and want to wear them all winter. Hopefully I can tuck jeans into them in cold weather. I hope that look is still ok?

I struggle with this one a bit too Lynn, and wondered what about the look could veer off in the "wrong' direction. I happen to like cropped or ankle length pants with pumps, so Angie's linked examples above were really helpful. I think I see now what can be improved from my end .....

Lynn, I wear my BF jeans longer so that my socks don't show in Winter. Or I wear the vamps of my booties higher. I also wear knee-highs when it's a little milder so that you can't see socks. It's not a bad look at all - to showcase your socks. In fact, it can be quite fun and quirky. It's just not my look. I hope that makes sense. xo
