Ask Angie et al: What colours go with olive green?

As you rightly pointed out I've never worn olive green before. I'll probably treat them as any other neutral and wear any colour with my new shorts but are there any colours that go particularly well or colours that should be avoided? x

Coral, tomato red, cobalt, turquoise, magenta, purple, red violet are some of my favorites.

Not Angie obviously but I really like red with olive green. White is a no brainer, as well. As you pointed out, it's a neutral. I tend to not like gray with it, though. It looks too close, to me, and somehow off. JMHO of course!

I personally like hot pink with olive green
Probably an acquired taste for some.... but I enjoy it.

I'm also a fuchsia with olive fan. I think blues work well too. I never considered red but most likely because I am cautious with red and green because they are so reminiscent of Christmas.

I honestly can't think of a color that doesn't go with olive! I happen to particularly like gray with olive, as in my Sartorialist copycat here (especially the revised version): http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....st-attempt. It's my favorite color!
Let's see, I wear it with black, white, cream,tan,gray, brown, fuscia, blush pink, burnt orange, navy, peach/coral.....just about anything.

it all just goes with olive green -- my favorites: fuschia, blush pink, dark rose pink, coral, lavender, teal, indigo or denim, soft yellow, cobalt, eggplant, violet, and even neutrals like midtone grey, camel, taupe, brown....
different shades of olive will work better with some colors rather than others.

I'm another who thinks olive can be paired with anything. If you've got a nice semi-saturated olive, the best part is you can pair muted OR bright colors with it so your options are pretty much limitless. Looking forward to seeing you style your new shorts!
