TS - I just wanted to update and let you know I tried the GAP Really Skinny pants as 'cigarette pants' today (with loafers, and with sandals) and you know what? It worked! Even though I'd previously thought of my GAP Really Skinny pants as only something I would tuck into tall boots in winter (they look great tucked into flat boots, btw), they *do* work as cigarette pants after all, and surprisingly, still have enough of that tiny bit of scrunch at the bottom. Just for the record, I'm 5' 6" tall, and the Really Skinny pants I have are 10R (regular length). I get what looks like the perfect amount of scrunch with flat shoes/boots and very low heels. Because they are so slim-cut, even if the inseam length is on the longer side, it'll still work. Does that make sense?
I wasn't expecting that - last fall, these were strictly for wearing with slightly longer tops and tucked into tall boots.
Well, voila! Colour me surprised - they *are* good cigarette pants after all. Definitely worth a try - with the Really Skinnies from GAP, you might get fab pants that work for tucking into boots through winter, but that also do double-duty as 'cigarette pants'.
Just thought I'd throw in that my original opinion of these pants has changed. They're skinnies, but they are *also* great cigarette pants too.
