Ask Angie (and all): PPL for track pants?

having a tough time figuring out the optimum length for each type of shoe.

#1 -- with laceless cons
#2 -- with heels

full disclosure: i wore the 2nd look from #1 panel out of the house.

I like them the full length with both shoes...it is more elongating to my eye.

I like full length with Cons, and #2 with heels. Nice variety to choose from!

All the lengths work. You have tapered hems and self coloured footwear to thank for that.

Personally, I like #2 in panel #2 the least (I'm a spanner). Would look better with a black ankle strap shoe or high vamped shoe. The high vamp in #2 in panel #1 (Cons) looks better to my eye.

I have a very complicated relationship with cropped pants. I seldom think they work at that "in-between" length with low vamped shoes (like pumps). As soon as you adjust the length to higher or lower, the line looks better with pumps. High vamped footwear is a better bet with that length.

I am still in the woods when it comes to cropped pants lengths, but I had to pop in to say that I love the top!

I like them full length with both shoes, and the shortest length with the pumps. With the two middle lengths, the cuffs do not look tapered enough to my eye so they look too wide (if more tapered/fitted to the ankle, I think the lengths would be fine.)

How are you getting the track pants to roll/scrunch without getting a bit poof over the cuff? Maybe it's just the style of mine (and others I've tried on) but I always seem to get a big genie-style balloon thing going on when I try to roll them.

Before reading Angies reply, I "tested" myself - I like photo #2 in Panel 1 and photo #1 in Panel #2 the best. Did I pass? Great post - helps to visually see the choices.

Angie...good to know that most pass your test. still loking for that ankle strap shoe.

Suz, the top is a scuba sweatshirt with a feather print silk front. in a breeze, the feathers look like they are ruffling! so fun.

Diana, i fold twice at the cuffs. any more and it bunches. any less and it has a weird bottom flare. for the last 2 panels in each photo, i fold at the elastic waist too, so the crotch sits higher, this may decrease the blousy-ness of cuffing.

I really like the outfit! I was eager to see what Angie said on this question. I thought all of them looked good (interesting to see Angie agreed!), though I had a slight preference for 3 in 2.

I'm not reading the other responses until after I submit.

I prefer the full length with both shoe options. The proportions just look right to me but perhaps I am also influenced by our impending winter.

The pants look really good on you. Nice fitting and versatile.

With the Cons I like full length best (#1a), with the pumps full length (#2a) and almost shortest (#2c) best.

i wonder how the proportions would change when i start wearing hose? i must try that out for the weather!

When you add hose you can fudge the proportions a bit -- some of the not-quite-flattering-enough lengths might be made just-flattering-enough -- as long as the hose is dark
