Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Are these too menswear inspired?

I'm really drawn to menswear inspired oxfords (especially Anthropologie's) but those don't come in my size. Today I stumbled upon these at Nordstrom Rack. They're by Circa Joan & David (never heard of the brand). They have a nice metallic sheen to them, but I feel like they are *super* masculine anyway, especially in my large size (women's 12, which is a men's 10!)

What do you think?

I like them in theory but I am not sure the style is right for me. Thoughts?

Edit: Just found a blog in which Angie mentions them: http://youlookfab.com/2008/11/.....ord-shoes/
Mine are the first pair on the second row.

I think they're hot! Keep!

I think I would need to see them in an outfit to really make a judgment. I like menswear looks contrasted with really girly feminine details.

Like Maya says, try them contrasted with a ruffly blouse or tiered skirt, for example. I also love the mix of masculine and feminine in a single outfit.

I also like them. I kind of prefer the oxfords with the wingtip detail, but if I ran across these at a good price I would definately consider them.

I think they're a total keeper. With skinny pants you'd totally be channeling Annie Hall. Fabulous in my book. :) Or yeah, mix them with more feminine pieces! Either way they're such a quirky and stylish shoe.

Fabulous! Let's see you wear a look.

I really like these shoes, but my style contrasts to yours quite a bit. I'm picturing the shoes with jeans and your plaid ruffle top or your hounds tooth coat and definitely believe they will work.

I love them! I don't think they'd always have to be worn with feminine looks, either (though I do love that look). I wear my brogues/jazz shoes with pretty much everything. Actually, a metallic pair is next on my list!

I'm not very found of it, but I think you can make it work keeping the rest of the outfit more feminine, maybe classic trousers and a silk blouse

I love that look; I've been on the hunt for a pair of flat oxfords myself. I have tons of heeled ones from last winter. :)

Circa by Joan and David is a very comfortable brand, I've found. Good quality too; I have some kitten-heeled pumps from 3-4 years ago that still hold up.

I think they're great. I've been looking since last year for some flat, ankle boots for winter. Haven't found a thing. So I'm beginning to think I may need some of these brogues myself. Metallic makes the idea even more fun!

I have boots my circa by joan and david. They're really comfy. And, going off this post but related to other discussions, they fit my 17ish inch calves.

Yay! I really like them too but thought I might be out of my mind. I wish they were a different color or had a bit more feminine detailing, but for the rare size and price I think I'll settle. These were $35.00 at the Rack.

I found these which I like better but are more expensive so I don't think I'm going to buy them: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA.....224wt_1040

I love them! I think you can totally rock this look. This is one of those items that I can't work into my wardrobe right now (maybe next fall), but I love on other people.
