Are these too clunky for me?

As I was searching around for Jean's comfortable travel shoes, I came upon these: http://www.6pm.com/dansko-tori-black I need a slight heel to wear with dress pants to work (lots of running around in big school hallways) and jeans at other times, but heels and I do not usually get along.

Do these look overly clunky to you?

Let me put it this way. I have boots from Dansko with a similar shaped heel and toe box. I never feel super chic when I wear them, but I end up wearing them A LOT because they look good enough for work and I can wear them all day running around without suffering. They look good enough. When I want to feel chic and beautiful, I wear a beautiful shoe that I am delighted to take off when I get home and hope a foot rub is scheduled for my evening.

I think that it depends a lot on what type of pants you will be wearing with these. Perfect Pants Length will be very important, here.
I could see these working with opaque tights and a wool skirt.

April, I know exactly the kind of running around you mean! Hope the end of the year isn't too hectic:) Mine's berserk.

These are slightly heavy, but with the right pants length, I think they'll work nicely.

I think they'll definitely work with jeans. I'm not sure with dress pants; would have to actually see them on you with the pants. Worth a shot though.

Okay, I will probably order and try them. Any guidance on how I will know if they "work" or not (besides my inevitable post to this forum to ask "Does this work?")

I have minimal talent at picking good shoes and would so like to get better at this. I can tell if they're comfortable, of course, but I frequently figure out too late that they're frumptastic.

You can always order them and post pics wearing them with your slacks! My gut says they will look great with boot or trouser cut slacks, but they may look clunky with pencil legged Audrey Hepburn type slacks (don't know which kind you have). I agree that they might look cute with tights as well.

Oh.. I hate to be the only who dislikes.. but I think it's a bit chunky, maybe with trousers... or bootcut jeans .. to cover the shoe..;)

I think they are fine as long as the pants cover them up. They don't look like a stand alone shoe that would work with skirts or skinny pant legs that would show the entire shoe.
