Thank you gals It's so fun to post and get all these nice comments back.
AJ/San: Yes, those Rieker boots are fun. They are brown suede with orange flowers on the side. Rieker is a German (I think - or maybe Austrian) brand and VERY comfortable. I've had these boots for years but don't wear them too often, cause I find them a little hard to match sometimes; the orange throws me off as it's not a color I would wear anywhere but in shoes so I lack creativity in the color combos. I've found, though, that these boots go real nice with teal and dark turquoise, which I just started wearing more, so I think they'll come out more often between now and the end of winter.
JewelryGirl: The black jacket (which actually has tiny white dots all over) is from Mac & Jack and I bought it a year ago in a consignment store. I'm real happy with it, it's super versatile and it makes it easy to dress up jeans.
Bella, thanks so much for the photo tips. Honestly I don't even know if my camera has a timer, I'm that much of a photo novice, but I'll check and if so, I'll try this!
My party outfit was super fun to wear (I wore it for my birthday party.) My friends got a kick out of the flower pin
Thanks all for the validation for the skirt and boots look. This fall and winter I've been wearing skirts more often than pants - partially because I really like the look and think it's more flattering for my shape, but partially also because I actually am a bit denim-challenged. Besides my skinny jeans I honestly don't own any jeans that I'm really happy with. I might just have to follow in many YLFers foot steps and embark on a quest for the perfect jeans... I'll count on everyone's expert advice!
