Anti-Procrastination Inspiration: 17 items off to consignment!

Just in case that inspires anyone else to take care of a wardrobe-related project that's been put off too long.

Plus my mixed-media sweatshirt came back from the tailor today, so I got to reap the rewards of last week's anti-procrastination effort.

Hey, me too! Got my dress back from the tailor with shortened straps and made it to the bank to open an account for the eBay sales of the stuff I need to move out of the closet.

Well done you. I got off my butt and did a wardrobe sort out and found better storage solutions. I can see what I've got so much better now and I don't keep forgetting about stuff I have and not wearing it.

It shouldn't be so hard for me to get my items over to the store, but I know why it is:

1. They require a minimum of 10 items. If you bring in 13 things and they only accept 9 of them, they won't take any because now you're under 10 items. Somehow I find this anxiety-provoking.

2. They're very picky about what they'll take. They love statement pieces, higher-end labels, and things with the tags still on, and it all has to be in excellent condition. No padding out your 10 items with a slightly frayed sweater.

When you combine those conditions, somehow it's easy to put off taking in your consignment pile.

Good luck with your consignment items! I'm staring to think about creating a donation bag to week out some spring/summer wear. I can't help but start thinking about the next season when I start seeing items in the stores.

Good for you. Ah! I dont know that anything would ever make it to the consignment with that many restrictions put on me! One of my style goals for this year is to sell stuff I dont use that still has value. Cheers!

Brava! COnsigning can be a pain, but getting the cash is fun! One local consignment shop only books appointments on the 15th (like they only make appointments on that day for the following month, you can't come in and book an appointment any time). I have missed out on so many months because their phone is busy! They will take up to 25 items. There is another shop I want to try that books appointments any time, but doesn't take new consignors in January! I don't understand.
