Another One Fell of SYC Wagon

Hi,

I couldn't have Anna who fell off SYC for a killer pair of shoes here sit alone. We can jump back on the SYC wagon together.

What happened? I had Express on my mind from my past week of WIW and went to the mall for a return to another store.

I never made it for my return. I got side tracked in Express.

I have been trying to replace my black blazer in #1 since Angie posted her fab denim on denim look back in September with no success. I love this outfit. However, I find blazers hard to fit. Often they are too tight in the shoulders and when I size up they are too big in the torso, which is a costly alteration especially when blazers are lined.

This blazer from Express in #2 fits like a dream, is 100% comfortable and has a nice shape to it. I know my right arm holding the camera throws off the fit in my outfit posts but I have yet to master the self timer on my camera. I plan to swap out the dark shoes for some nude one's when the weather is warmer to come closer to Angie's killer look.

#3 is the blazer closed (not something I typically do with my blazers) and #4 is tucked.

Ah well, if I stay away from the mall I should make it through the rest of Jan ok.

That blazer looks like it fits you perfectly! Great find. A good black blazer is a such an essential piece for me. I have the same fit issues - broad shoulders - so I think it was a great score for you!

I think you did the right thing in buying this, especially because it is a difficult item for you and you have been looking for it for a long time. If it were a shocking pink sequin bolero jacket it would be a different story--you'd have to take it back. This fits in with a plan.

Anna-Uh oh, more new shoes?

Tara-There were quite a few black blazers in Express with a softer fabric, it gave a lot of stretch which is why I think this one worked for me.

MsMaven-You are correct, I did stick with a plan. And that's a first. In fact, I did try on a few other lovely pieces but they were true "I wants" and not "I really need" this items. They were not on my list prior to entering the store, where as the blazer was a genuine hole for me.

Jonesy -Yes, you are correct. I knew an item had to be pretty special to break the SYC challenge. Finding this blazer was really nice despite breaking SYC.

Kellygirl -Thanks! I enjoy the blazer with jeans look and it is nice to find a replacement for one of mine. I have a couple on my wishlist. I think the comparison pictures speak for itself as fas as the difference fit can make with an outfit.
