Angie's formula: Khakis, tee, blazer, gladiators

Angie's formula came at a great time, because we're going to Chicago this weekend to visit friends, and it sounds like it's going to be kind of in-between weather, and I'm trying to figure out what to take!

A little shopping in my closet, and I came up with a good daytime weekend in the city outfit, with a topper that I can take off if it's warm. Problem solved!

I wouldn't mind having slouchier pants, but these Vince relaxed olive skinnies will have to do. A silk tee (Equipment) felt a little more polished to me in case we have lunch somewhere nice, and my Theory ponte blazer with leather trim and zippers on the sleeves is a great travel companion, because it is warm, comfortable, and doesn't wrinkle. These Madewell sandals are nice and comfortable for walking, with a small wedge heel, although I may switch them out for an even more comfortable black flat for this occasion.

Both versions are fab! You look great in those pants. They may not be exactly slouchy, but they have a relaxed vibe that pairs nicely with the silk tee, with and without the jacket--just as Angie described. It's a perfect layering piece, but substantial enough that it can squeak by without a camisole.

Firecracker, I think I will take both footwear options, and then I can decide depending on the weather and how much walking we're planning.

Great combination--slouchy T and jacket are fab. I agree the skinnies work fine as are not legging-tight. Some of your more slouchy track-type pants would also be great (though then not khaki formula).

Magpie, I wish they still had those sandals. I'd get the black, too. With all the buckles they're adjustable for just about any width foot.

Parsley, you're right. I have had a "nice white tee" wardrobe hole in my closet at least since the weather warmed up, and I think spending the money on something I really love (I hope I love it!) will be absolutely worth it in the long run.
