Hi Everybody!

Here are my outfits for last week. I wasn't going to post them, since I thought you all would probably be sick of seeing me after the Specs thread (they should be ready tomorrow!), hee hee. But I saw Sarah P. today (sarbear1121) and she said she would like to see my outfits, so I thought I would post them.

Monday:

My new J. Crew long cardigan in deep persimmon that you all helped me decide on, the silver polka dot blouse, and my white shorts.

Tuesday:

My ribbon belt with the rosette. I ended up changing later in the day because I was too hot and sticky, but this is what I wore for most of it.

Thursday:

You all saw this outfit on the specs thread. Any way to wear this navy wrap dress besides like this?

Friday:

I didn't get a chance to take a photo, but I just wore my coral knit v neck dress from J. Crew and black beaded necklace again because it was so hot.

Saturday and Sunday:

Cleaning gear. My mom is visiting this week (she flies in tomorrow) and I spent the weekend cleaning all those things you never notice are dirty until someone is visiting (air vents, the tops of picture frames, the washer and dryer, etc). I'm just now finishing up, which is why I haven't been posting that much, but I have been checking in and reading.

Ana - you look absolutely stunning. I audibly gasped with delight at Monday's outfit. I never like to be the first to respond, but I had to because you look so fantastic. Such a wonderful treat to see your outfits!

You look fabulous! Persimmon is wonderful on you. I'm glad you're getting the matchsticks denims and not the cords because the persimmon color is better. I love the curls too. Do they just naturally turn up like that or do you have to direct them a bit? I think your red specs are going to smashing with your wardrobe.

Ana, you look great in all your outfits. I love it! For the wrap dress, do you have a short sleeved cardigan you could wear over it? I'm finding I don't get much versatility out of a wrap top for the most part. The only way I've found to vary the look is to add a different cami underneath and different accessories or add a cardigan on top. What about a really striking necklace and a white cami? Anyway, just my 2cents

Beautiful, Ana! Persimmon/coral/tomato red is your signature color! Do you actually wear these cardis while out and about in the Austin summer heat? Or do the cardis come off outdoors and go back on in the AC?

Patience, my hair is naturally curly so my curl pattern does sort of just do that, but it takes a lot of work to make it non frizzy. It's actually less time and work just to blow dry it straight to make it look nice than to just let it do its own thing. I like it change it up once in a while, but for the most part I prefer my hair straight.

Thanks, Nicole! I'm so happy I at least appear cool. Usually I'm all sweaty and feel gross by the end of the day. I try to take my photos at the beginning while I still look nice, but it doesn't always work out.

And thank you Dani for the suggestion on the wrap dress. I have worn cheetah print ballet flats with it before. I think when I get the yellow ladybug bead necklace, I will try the dress with that and a white cami and see what I can do.

Alecia, I usually layer the cardigans over a blouse or something because I do take them off when I go outside (as Becky said). In the case of Monday's outfit, I was indoors at work almost all of the day, so I decided a belted cardigan was okay. If I am in a situation where I will be taking the cardi on and off, then I don't bother with an outfit that needs to be belted because it's just too darn fussy. I also look for very lightweight cardigans (J. Crew carries "summerweight" or "featherweight" and this helps with layering in the heat).

Sarah, the ribbon/flower belts are a lot of fun. Sometimes they add just that little bit of interest that an outfit needs. If you think you could work into your wardrobe, I say go for it!
