Ana, Patience, Sarah, and San meet (with pictures)

Hi everyone. I was a very lucky gal yesterday!!! I had mentioned here on the forum that I would be in San Antonio this week. To my delight Ana got together with her fellow Austinites Sarah and Patience, and organized a gathering for the four of us. We met in a very cute historical little town in Texas called Gruene.
We started the day at a tea house and had a delicious snack followed by some shopping around town.
Patience had to leave to pick up her child before we had lunch at a great place called the Gristmill restaurant. We missed her but had Jack Daniels pecan pie and Bluebell ice cream to make ourselves feel better!
What a fun day! Thankyou Ana, Sarah, and Patience for meeting me in Gruene, Texas. It was a fantastic day!

Seconding the jealousy, but so glad you ladies had such fun!

All of you look gorgeous and that pecan pie looks PHENOMENAL. Way to give me a craving that I can't satisfy :p

San, thanks for sharing pictures of your wonderful day! You all look so lovely and it's so great that you got to meet the Texas gals! Hope you are enjoying Texas. It's a great state!

How fun. One of these days we're going to have to have a YLF world forum gathering :-) Meanwhile, I loved the pictures. What a bunch of well dressed and good looking women! I bet all eyes were on you.

That is awesome! Looks like a fun gathering full of gorgeous, friendly women. How fab indeed.

I hope I'll have an opportunity to meet up with some YLF-ers someday. It's neat when online connections can turn into real life friendships, too.

Ladies.. let me tell you.. what a lovely group! You were all gorgeous. Hope you had tons of fun!

What fun! You all look gorgeous. That town looks so quaint ... I can feel the atmosphere in the photos. I can feel the pie too :)

You all make dressing in the heat look so easy, you look like old friends in the pictures and it is amazing the relationships which can develop through this forum.

What a beautiful mix of fashionable ladies!! How fun for all of you, wish I could have been there!

You all look wonderful - and happy. :) Sarbear, I somehow hadn't realized from your outfit photos what a change your hair has undergone. I love it! Everyone looks radiant. Thanks for posting these!

How wonderful! Thank you for sharing your photos with us. And you all look fabulous!

We had such a great time! I was sorry to leave early but it was wonderful to meet Sandy. Shiny's description of Sandy as that wonderful neighbor you can talk to about anything is so spot on. (As if that is a surprise). Sandy just exudes comfortableness. Hopefully, one day all three of us Austinites will make it up to Seattle to return the visit.

I also have some pics that are pretty similar to Sandy's-- minus the pecan pie. I'll upload them when I get a chance.

Oh thankyou Patience, and Shiny, for the sweet compliment.
I believe we did feel like old friends. We are old friends. We really do become very aquainted here on this lovely forum.

What a fab gathering of fab ladies! Looks like you all had a great time and had some yummy food. Thanks for sharing the photos san!

Thank you for sharing your pictures, San! Sounds like you had a great time, and it's amazing that you could meet like old friends thanks to the forum. Everyone looks fantastic, you are all so polished, I don't know how you do it in that heat! San, I am especially in love with your outfit, so chic and comfy at the same time! Sarah, I also really like your new hair - the pictures outside really do it justice.

San, how is San Antonio? Are you enjoying the city and the restaurants? I would love to hear more about what you saw and where you ate. We loved living in that city...so much to do and so many great restaurants!

We had such a wonderful time, and I agree that Sandy is just as stylish and sweet as she appears online. The food was all wonderful (it's really hard to find bad food in Texas, I'm afraid) and the shops were fun. I've been to Gruene several times, but oddly enough my husband has never taken me to the various shops. Hmmmm. So that was fun to do this time with the ladies.
Thanks for the compliments on my hair! It has already changed again, heehee. I will post photos tomorrow. I must attend to my kitties who are quite frightened of the thunder and lightning storm we're having. I'm not complaining, it's the first rain I've seen in months it seems.

Oh, you guys all look AMAZING, and you clearly had a great time together. The enjoyment and excitement just glows from every picture of you together. I am so jealous! :)

All of you look so polished, radiant and abso-lute-ly gorgeous!!! I can just tell how much fun you had. I hope someone on the forums from Tampa unlurks soon! Yay for YLF :-D

I am so loving this...just fabulous! You all look great, and it sounds like you had a great time.

My butt is spreading just looking at the pie pics. Did they have a vegan version of it??? Just askin'... :-0

Posted 2 months ago

Looks and sounds like you all had a wonderful time!

Posted 2 months ago

Nope, no vegan Jack Daniels Pecan Pie. :) There are plenty of vegan and vegetarian places, especially in central Texas, but The Gristmill isn't one of them. They are one of the area's favorite BBQ joints, located right next to an honest to goodness Texas dance hall.

Posted 2 months ago

Aaaaw, Sarah, now you're making me feel nostalgic! We used to go to Floore's Country Store dance hall in Helotes. So historic...some of the greats like Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Patsy Cline have played there. Have you ever been there?

Now I'm craving a Corona!

Posted 2 months ago

I've never been there, Debora. It doesn't look too far outside of San Antonio, so we'll have to check it out.
Our household craves Shiner, a local favorite. :)
Places like Gruene make me want to stick on my medium wash slightly distressed 7 jeans, cowboy boots (still looking for some) and hit the dance floor. I can only dance some swing, but I guess if I can two step, I could make it, right?

Posted 2 months ago

I never really mastered the two-step when we lived in Texas! :) All the times we went to Floores were for work functions but it sure was fun! I'm also missing the wonderful Texas BBQ. It was the best!
