I can't tell if I'm reaching green sandal desperation or if this is a good upgrade for my grommet flip flops. They would be inexpensive options that if they only last this season, would be fine. They don't hit quite as high on the ankle as the Ash. My BF isn't a huge fan of gladiators in general, thinking they make me look like an Egyptian slave girl. Maybe this is a little more reserved, but still adds a little edge to shorts and summer dress looks?

From the photo, I don't love them. But I sense this is the sort of sandal that is going to look very different on your foot. That's no help, is it?

I don't think it's an upgrade from the flip flops. I'd hold out if you can.

Hm. Have you tried these on? I'd say hold out for love or for a pair you at least are able to try on first. With your Mohops being so convertible, it seems like you can get through your Florida stay without gladiators if you need to... it just seems a shame to buy something you don't love and won't love years down the line since you'll be going back to CA soon. If you're going to get something, it would be nice to be happy to pull them out for vacations and such later.

From the photo, these don't grab me either. However, if you feel they are 'YOU' then go for them. I see from your profile that you love buckles, studs, etc, and these certainly would score there. However, I sense as I read your thread, that you have your doubts. If I'm right about that, hang on until you find a sandal that you really LOVE, not a compromise (and remember the season's half over, so unless you live somewhere where Autumn comes very late, you'd get just six-eight weeks wear of these, max.) My advice, for what it's worth, is to pass on these, stick with your flip-flops, and buy something you truly love to store away for next Summer (if you find them now), or at the beginning of the season, when you'll have more choice!.

Since you're in Florida and it's not like your sandal season is about to end, I say hold out for something perfect.

I saw these on the Aersoles website and thought of you. They come in an array of colors/prints - INCLUDING GREEN! - and are on sale for $30-40. Super comfy, too, I'd imagine, as Aerosoles usually are.

Thanks, Anne, I did see those in my searching. I think the sole is just a little thick for me. I am thinking the advice to hold out for great ones I love is wise. When I quickly fill a hole with whatever is currently available instead of waiting it out, I'm usually not thrilled with what I end up with and eventually replace it with a Wow later.

Mo, I don't think they're fab enough for you. I've done the same thing -- find something *better* that still isn't *great* and then regret it when *great* comes along.

Oh, Una! Buckles and studs and straps Oh my!! LOVE. But not even considering the price, I need flats that can do the unpaved shoulder of the road on my walks. practical practical practical ba humbug.
And yes, Janet, getting 'make do' stuff is not what I'm trying to do anymore. It is so true that you just end up replacing them *yet again*. So hard to break those bad habits sometimes!
