So today I went with a few friends to Folklife. It's huge four day festival in Seattle that features all sorts of folk related performances, traditional dance from almost every nationality, music from all over and crafts. It's impossible to see everything, so you have to pick and choose.
We took a break at a beer garden, at the adjacent stage there was a group playing acoustic strings, a bit bluegrass, Americana and folk.
There were two women associated with band. The one in the red dress played the fiddle for one song.
My friend and I had a hard time coming up with a term for their style. Though we both agreed it was cool. She said Geisha Lolita. I disagreed with the Lolita aspect, also the hats reminded me more of Argentina.
Anyways what say you?
