I want a jacket like this! The photo is from a Facebook ad for a quilt exhibit. Does anyone know where to find/buy something like this?

My guess is that she made it herself because the fabric looks like the kind you find at quilting shops.

Try Etsy? There are all kinds of rainbow handmade or vintage jackets and cardigans on there.

Thank you for your suggestions and peacechick for the links. Kris, I think you are right that a quilter made the jacket. I like the texture as well as the style and colors.

It definitely looks handmade, as an art piece. I wonder if in the ad this is the quilter of the quilt behind her. If you really wanted something like this, or this very one, you might sleuth a little. If you can find out who the quilter is, contact her, and find out if she makes jackets to sell. I used to go to a quilt show every year and they always had a fashion show. The garments were definitely maximal.

See if there is a quilt guild in your area. They may have some people in the guild who make wearable art and would be happy to make you one. also inquire at a local quilt shop if there are any in your area. I used to be a quilter and went to lots of quilt shows. I remember an annual in San Diego that we attended a few times and they always had a wearable art display. jackets are a very common item at these. I was never good enough or clever enough to make a jacket like that. I did make a patch sweatshirt with lots of fancy thread and stitching that was interesting. Never actually wore it though as the inside was scratchy.

I can see why you like this one. It is unique and very pretty.

JAileen and always trying, thank you for the ideas for finding someone who might make one for me. I have a friend from highschool who likes to quilt small items. I will email her the photo and see if she will do it. What I want is wearable art.

joy, this looks like something that often turns up in museum gift shops and catalogs.
love the bright colors with the black stripe, which seems to ground it without taking over.

That looks like an IC jacket to me. They frequently do the off-center close and colorful fabrics. I looked at their current lineup and didn't see it, but here's a link.

Thank you, Fannie and JAileen. That looks very close. Unfortunately it looks like the smallest size will swim on me ( 40 bust measurement?!), but I may need to try it anyway.

Deborah, does Moto fit a 32/34 bust? I'm not at all curvy. If they would fit, I am interested.
