About your wardrobe and personal style

A Love Letter To Angie

Angie - I just wanted to thank you, again, for this amazing site you have created.

When I found YLF, I started on a journey to discover my own personal style. You have been such an amazing resource. Without your gentle guidance I never would have been ready to change, or to consider wearing any color other than black. I still have a long way to go, and I still struggle with defining my own personal style, but I never would have taken the first steps without YLF. I can't thank you enough. (And be prepared for some upcoming pictures of bad color combinations as I gingerly step into the world of color! Hopefully they won't be too painful to look at.)

Isn't Angie just swell? There's no one quite like her! Add me to the growing fan club list ...

Definitely a HUGE fan. She's so helpful and open - and generous with her time - especially on this forum!

Hear, hear!
Angie, I am always amazed at how you dedicate so much time thoughtfully responding to all of the forum threads - on top of your blog posts and many commitments outside of the website. A BIG thank you for sharing so much of your time, advice, and knowledge with us.

Well said, Tara. YLF was the first time style advice made any sense to me- thank you for that, Angie.

Oh Tara how nice. You said it so beautifully.

Very well said. I think what I love most about Angie -- besides her impeccable taste, dedicated follow-through and unrelenting good humor -- is her wonderful sense of tact. It's such a rare commodity, especially in online forums, that I often want to stand up and applaud when she says things just *so* perfectly.

Also, I love the way she encourages all of us to stretch ourselves and not get bogged down by hard-and-fast rules.

I agree, an amazing source of inspiration and encouragement! Thank you Angie!!

Angie is the best! Thanks so much!

What's left to say? :) I don't post very often but have been following the blog for 8 months now and it has truly opened up my eyes. Most of all though, it's Angie's grace and warm personality that makes ylf the little oasis of friendlyness and style it is. Thank you for being such an inspiration!

I agree with all. Like you said Kristen, I love Angie's tact; I think she sets the tone for everyone else of the forum, which makes it, by far, the kindest online forum I'm ever participated in.

Yes, yes, yes! I am joining the love letter to Angie too! Can I, please?

Angie, you are the best! You are so knowledgeable and have an impeccable taste, but you are so much more than that: you are generous, tactful, gentle, graceful, kind, and always willing to accommodate other people's opinions and tastes. This forum is an amazingly supportive place, all thanks to you!

It's all already been said, but count me in too!

*blushing again*

I wholeheartedly embrace your love letter, Tara. (BIG HUG). Know that I can’t wait to see your colourful ensemble combinations, which will probably be a whole lot better than you expect! Also, you have a few KILLER black frocks that I would miss if you put them away. They are part of your style and you would not be Tara without them.

Thank you, ladies. YLF is our labour of love and Greg and I enjoy every minute of it. But it would not be the place that it is without YOU. It’s your presence that keeps this site a well oiled machine. All I do is keep pushing your envelope and reassuring you that “you can”, when you think that “you can’t”. I ADORE doing that :-)

What a wonderful letter. I agree! I used to be an envelope pusher - but I fell away from that for various reasons. This blog and this forum have helped me immensely - I feel like I am back to my risk-taking fashionable self again.
Thanks Angie for all of your commitment and your sensible and kind ways!

Online communities can be judgmental and narrow-minded, and fashion forums can exaserbate those qualities. Angie, you've helped create a place that flies in the face of every negative online community stereotype. You've clearly led by example and gathered an incredible group of style-savvy people who are generous with their time and universally kind, just like you. You also provide fashion advice that's realistic and genuinely helpful. YLF is a true accomplishment...THANK YOU!

Angie can I just add a big "me too" (geddit) to everything that's already been said? I think the great, supportive community that we have here is direct testament to its creators. Without your uniquely thoughtful, gentle and firm leadership, ylf would not be what it is!

What a true thread. Angie (and Greg) created YLF as a perfect combination of knowledge, creativity, sincerity, inspiration and modesty. A hard to achieve combination!

MMUAH and HUGSSS Greg & Angie! And - What they all said :-)

Well said, Tara! Three cheers for Angie.
