A couple of WIWs from last week

I have a bunch of outfit photos from this month that I haven't posted yet, so here is me trying to catch up.

#1-2 is a flight outfit (Boston to DC) with lots of layers to fit very different weather conditions in the two cities on that day: graphic tee - Urban Outfitters, turquoise silk cardi - Banana Republic, bootcut jeans - Joe's Muse, pewter wedges - Me Too, black leather jacket - Kenneth Cole, polka-dot scarf - Express, white woven leather bag - Club Monaco.

#3-4 is built around ancient mint wrap top, and was inspired by color combining suggestions in the most recent In Style magazine: mint wrap top - VS, lavender cami- Express, grey pants - Banana Republic, cream perforated flats - Mia, white denim jacket - Express

#5 is a take on Angie's formula of a column of denim+bright blazer+patterned shoes. I have reversed the blazer and the shoes, using striped jacket and bright shoes. The denim is purposefullybg in different shades - for some reason that appealed better to me in this outfit. Black&white striped blazer- Club Monaco, denim shirt- Gap, straight jeans - Diesel, yellow patent flats - Ann Klein.

#6 was for a cultural festival at the French Embassy, which was lots of fun. LBD - VS, red patent shoes - Michael Kors, and silver graduation necklace.

Agree with Celia, #5 is fab, and so are the rest of these. Your mint top and striped blazer are right on trend!

Jeanne, I so wish I could have taken those shoes home with me. Unfortunately, when one is on a SYC/SYB, there isn't much justification for purchasing a pair of burgundy satin peep-toe going out pumps when one already owns red patent peep-toe going out shoes

Wow, these are beautiful. I love the way 1/2 manage to look like two different outfits! THAT is clever travel dressing. So put together for every situation. Love the mint/lilac combo, and adore #5, too. As for the LBD, it is perfect on you!

This week really shows the power of your closet Tanya. Everything is very on trend with colors, textures and overall outfit combinations regardless of when the clothes were purchased. You are SYC really, really well! I am hoping my own closet will be this versatile at some point.

#1 is my favorite just because I adore this color cardigan. I am on the lookout for a sweater in a similar color. I think it will be great for now with greys and in the summer against white.

The very long SYC/SYB can make me feel down a bit sometimes, and it is very nice to hear that I seem to be doing better than I am feeling I am.

How do you feel about dressing for your environmental norm these days, Tanya?

Dressing for work feels different these days. I have also come to appreciate simpler looks with less accessories and bells and whistles which helps. I feel more comfortable wearing dressier items like silk blouses and tailored jackets than before, especially if they are right fabrications (non-shiny silk, ponte knots) and I dress them down with jeans. If experimenting with trendier stuff, I tend to stick to neutral colors. My current biggest issue is wearing brights, as they provoked a lot of comments. Also, I am still struggling with dressing for very hot weather with all the restrictions.
