As some of you know, I struggled over my decision to purchase an expensive Maje cape coat for DD for Christmas -- she had asked for a cape, but the coat was non-returnable, and at 22 she can be fickle. I had also purchased a cheap ebay cape based on a picture she sent me. You had provided great feedback and suggestions on how to handle this on Christmas morning.

So I gave DD the Maje coat and NOT the inexpensive ebay one. After much consideration I decided not to detract from the Maje and to hope she would see its beauty. And she did! I am not sure she understands quite completely its value (financial or in terms of long-term fashion) but she at least really seemed to like it for now -- and I am hopeful that in time, she will come to love and value it more.
