NAS picks and pre-sale purchases…

Hi All -

My computer hard drive crashed so I’m working off my phone. Apologies that I can’t attach finds. Has anyone seen the Avec les Filles oversized leather blazer in washed black? Quality? Sizing? I’m usually a small 5’3” 110. Size 4 usually sometimes a 6. But have never worked with this brand. The RL jacket is styled exactly as I wear a lot of outfits. Tunic/leggibgs/hip belt/boots in winter. Wondering about quality and if this can swing indoors. I don’t need another coat but I’ve been hunting for a belted blazer. The Vince Camuto crew neck vest is listed as having gold buttons. Not sure sizing or quality. I need a layering piece with gold accents. Thanks for any intell. GL to everyone. Hoping you get lots of amazing goodies!!

The last two jackets are presale purchases. I have the VB miller shirt n navy leather w silver hardware. I really wanted navy w gold hardware. Jacket is great. Already worn twice on sale about $350 now. The second is VB tweed. My
NAS purchase last year of cinq a sept houndstooth was a bust. Too heavy for the ruching on the sleeves. Difficult to layer. Not enjoying. Tweed denim blues jacket is enroute. Super sale so fingers crossed. Sorry to say the NAS VB looked not just underwhelming but high priced compared to her sale prices for me. But I hope they work for someone. I have a sugar eye for their blazers.

I've attached the Finds for you. Haven't seen these specific items in person yet.

In my experience with the brands, though:

Avec les Filles can run TTS, or a size big
Vince generally runs TTS (these days)
RL runs TTS, and is a narrower fit when you have broad shoulders, or like things roomier

I'm with you. The VB NAS items this year were for the most part disappointing. Theory too. A few good items in those brands - but not enough good items. We are used to STELLAR in those brands. The SA's I work with thought so too.

As for the weight of this RL coat, it has a lower wool content, so my guess is that you could probably wear it indoors.

Angie - Thanks for all the brand info and collecting finds. I agree Theory was disappointing as was Vince. I couldn’t find anything special on Boss either. It’s a shame Theory is not featuring their regal wool merino sweaters. They are my “tee shirts” and always make great basics. But agree brands and buyers are playing it very safe and neutral. Just not the “wow” we’ve come to expect. I may just get white dress shirts for my DH and call it a day. Although Uggs and barefoot dreams have throws that I have and can always use extras as I run cold. But I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone else gets. Hope that red sweater comes home with you. Perfect.
Joy - Thank you. Little layering tops with some interest are so hard to find. JCrew used to make their Jackie shell - rip. I can still get similar JCrew factory but lesser quality. So it’s a slog. Hoping that VC is nice. I hope you are well and all good. Elegant and stylish you always are!!

Gryffin, womenswear is playing it very safe, right? And no interesting Theory knits. Too safe! I think the Boss NAS offerings are gorgeous this year, though - IF YOU LIKE THOSE NEUTRALS! That didn't work out for either of us so that's that

There is lots of excellent menswear, women's basics, and home furnishings - for a change! That in itself is interesting. More people putting their money there, I guess!

Angie - Boss is such a great brand. It’s just not my year for color. But my loss is always someone else’s feast year. The workmanship and quality is wonderful. But always lovely things in housewares, men’s - I’ll be all over the dress shirts this year and those throws are calling to me. So it’s all good and great fun. Definitely looking forward to seeing everyone’s goodies. So fun!!
