I just attended my first 5Rhythms dance workshop where I spent my weekend moving my body to music, finding my inner fire & connecting with other people. It was such a timely workshop for me, I was feeling a sense of disconnection with myself & others & the movements took me through those feelings & left me with a feeling of clear peacefulness.

This is not a structured dance but more a getting back into your body & out of your head. An experience that is really difficult to put into words; because so much of it is about letting the words go & experiencing the rhythm of your own body, your own dance, while being in a room full of people who are also having their own experience. A moving meditation as someone described.
The 5 rhythms are flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical & stillness and they are experienced in different ways. If you are at all curious about this I would encourage you to give it a try, it is one of the best things I have ever done for myself.
