Mainlady, you look beautiful both ways. Your hair looks so healthy too.

Wow… gorgeous! I think I like the “natural” look better than the smooth look. But either way, you look beautiful. If someone could guarantee my grays would look like that, I’d stop dying.

Also a fan of the Ficcare clips.

I think it looks great! Not too big at all, but I can relate with the feeling, as I fought my hair for years, especially when I was a teenager.

The curl in mine has relaxed a bit over the years, and I think you and I have a similar hair texture. I don’t bother with straightening mine nearly as much as I used to, and I think my hair is healthier and happier for it.

Are you kidding me? Natural hair looks gorgeous! I wouldn't call that big hair, I would call it just right!

My word - when you said big hair I was picturing this.

Oh my goodness your natural wave is so pretty! You lucky thing.

MsMaven, thank you…not one bit younger, but I am less stressed and I think that has helped my appearance.
Ginger, the curls framing your face look beautiful!
I just checked into the Ficcare clips. They are beautiful! There are so many luscious colors to choose from. I think I will try a couple of styles to see if my hair prefers one over the other.
Haha April. Sometimes my hair looks that big, especially after a day on the lake, if it is humid and the wind has been blowing. Any curls I might have had have either frizzed or been blown into scraggly looking waves.

#2 is GORGEOUS!

Perhaps you just need a little time to get used to your natural hair texture.

By the way, you might feel that your looks become more harmonious/cohesive when you kind of "repeat" your hair texture in your dressing. For inspiration, see this article: https://insideoutstyleblog.com.....-hair.html

The Cat, thank you! This article is really helpful and something I have never thought of. It makes a lot of sense. I start paying more attention to textures in my clothing and see if what helps me feel mor at ease with the less tamed look.

So gorgeous! I am with Ms. Maven - I’d pay for that hair!

Wow, I love it! It took me some time to get used to wavy hair when I stopped straightening it, now I look weird if I do!

Wow! Lake hair is where it’s at. My favorite by far. So relaxed and pretty.

Shevia took the words right out of my mouth! Your natural waves are gorgeous--you could be a hair model, and I'm not even joking! It doesn't look "big" at all to me, but I can see how it might require some adjustment if you are used to always flattening and straightening it.

P.S. I love Cher's hair in Moonstruck! Go big or go home (if your hair is naturally big and you like it and it suits you), I say :)!

Absolutely beautiful curls! If mine would curl, not frizz, I would go for the natural look all day long.

You do look so relaxed and youthful! Good for you. Nice to see you!

I love your wavy curly hair! It’s not big hair…..I think most people have to go to the salon to get hair that looks like yours! LOL! Embrace your natural hair and enjoy!

Wow! I love your wavy hair. It is gorgeous.

Thank you all so much for your kindness and support of my hair at its most authentic. I have been giving it the freedom to do its own thing and the results vary day to day. I have 2 Ficcare clips coming my way and will see if and how they will help. I have mastered the messy bun, hahaha, but unless I am at the lake, I feel a bit, well, messy. If I do a very sleek bun, I look like the old school teacher of days gone by. I AM but I don’t necessarily want to look that way.

your hair is gorgeous. I don't know why we women tend to think our own natural beauty is not enough. Why embrace some arbitrary beauty standard when you've got such a beautiful crowning glory that is unique to you.
