Fun! I choose 2,3,4,5 & 7.
Grat challenge Ornella! No ideea how could I join dressing for work:-), but curious to see what others will come up with!:-)
Awsome!!!! I'll be following you all on the sideline - too much going on IRL to participate this time. Hope to join you on the next challenge
Fun! 1,3,4,5,6. Thanks Ornella!
I vote for: 1,3 5,6 and 8. Thanks for all your hard work putting this together Ornella.
2, 3, 5, 6 & 8.

I can't not vote for Star Wars.
I'm having the hardest time separating my love for the movies (Ahhh Metropolis!) from the visual of the movie poster or what I have in my closet that I could see working with the theme!

Closet wins out, so my vote is for 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10.

Thanks, Ornella!
When do we find out the results?
Ornella, I really appreciate the time and effort you put into these challenges:

1,2,4,6,9

Ornella, your Picture Perfect Challenge is just the inspiration I need to get out of my casual doldrums and strike up my imagination again!

You are a brilliant woman and this is perfect timing! Yay!

3, 4, 5, 7 and 8.
What a great challenge Ornella, thanks for organizing, I look forward to participating.

I vote for Vertigo (#3 I think) which to me is so miles and miles away from all of the others. And I love the movie.

My other choices are Pulp Fiction (#8) because I'm a Quentin fan, and American Beauty (#9). My final vote is for Metropolis (#1).

(I am just voting for four of them.) In sum, 1, 3, 8 and 9.

BTW movie posters are also called movie "key art." Seeing as this used to be my profession (movie marketing), I have my opinions about these; I prefer more conceptual design rather than the traditional approach as seen for Gone with the Wind or Indiana Jones or Star Wars. Or even Breakfast at Tiffany's. But given how successful these movies were, this is obviously a successful strategy as it features more of the talent and tells a bit of the story.

Being that Vertigo was a commercial failure upon *initial* release, I think this is proof that the literal, representational approach better sells or at least opens a movie. However as design, I definitely prefer these somewhat more abstract approaches.

Count me in ! My votes are for 1,3, 4, 6, and 10.
(Last I looked, no-one else had that combo, so I HAD to come on and vote!)
Sorry for late response to some questions, I'm not at home at the moment, but will return over the wekend.

lyn76 :: you say "No ideea how could I join dressing for work".
to answer this 'concern' here is bella's quote from the days when she came up with the concept for this challenge
"You can be inspired by the colors, the mood, the name of it - anything about it that strikes your fancy and tickles your imagination".
So, no excuses

Una :: To accommodate forum readership and challenge participants from across the globe and different time zones, the voting is open until Friday 5th April.
I will publish the results and schedule the following day, Saturday 6th April. The challenge will run from Monday 8th until Friday 12th April.

Denise :: thanks for the info - I am happy to learn more which is always the case with the challenges. And wow, what a great way to find more about you as well. I hope you'll add more information and commentary about the posters themselves which go into final selection over the course of the challenge. I love "Vertigo" the most as well and since you know the subject you must have wondered why I haven't included "Anatomy of a Murder" but I wanted to span wider time period amongst other things, as well as different (to my eye) themes/styles and some recognisable titles. I have compiled the selection by cross-referencing a number of sources (you can find them in my second post at the start of the thread) and quoted only some of the descriptions or commentary related to each poster. But immersing myself in the topic had opened my horizons, even just a little, and I look forward to a bit more research about the individual posters next week in search for my inspiration and interpretation.

My votes are 1,3,5,7,8

Bumping one last time before I close the thread this evening and count your votes.
