Would you consider these microchecks?

I saw these at Express, but they didn't have any sizes left even close to mine, so I ordered them and will check them out. Would these be considered microchecks as in Angie's posts?

They're cotton/spandex rather than a dressier fabric.

Not microchecks, are they, because of the pattern? But they would serve the exact same purpose in a wardrobe.

When I zoomed in the pattern looked plaid to me, but I couldn't tell 100%.

I'm not sure of the difference between plaid and microchecks? (does plaid have more lines in?) Anyway the pattern is great and i'm sure would be perfect in your wardrobe x

You know, we've had some discussion about this before & I can't recall if we actually reached a consensus. The famous CM microchecks were in fact a black and white glen plaid.

Either way, like Laura said, I these fit the same role. I wonder how flared the leg is though? I like the straight leg version a little better since they are easier to dress down or up).

I have these same pants but in a microcheck and they work so great as an alternative to jeans. Very comfortable too!

I believe that microchecks might actually be more encompassing than just plaid - like a mini houndstooth or actual checks that are not plaid (so that the criss-crossed lines are not of varying widths and sizes ). Cathy & I both own a pair of microcheck pants from anthropologie that are like this - they are definitely not plaid.
