Dress is quite casual but I thought maybe with the tights and belt it would be ok, not sure of the whole look though. Excuse the hair and lack of make-up etc.
I think you look fantastic- you'd definitely fit in at my office. So long as you think it's long enough for your own work, I say go for it! I love the dress, and the belt- the tights definitely help make it work appropriate.
ok I will give it a trial tomorrow! Some of the skirts my boss wears are on the short to too short side so I think this should be ok, particularly with the opaque tights covering my legs. I might wear my new cream trench over it in the morning, as its been a bit on the cold side in the mornings recently (16-18 degrees lol). Is it ok to wear a coat which is a bit longer than your skirt length? I think this was covered at some point but can't remember. Thanks for the comments.
Sounds like your trench is the absolute perfect length; the rule is to keep your coat at the same length or longer than your dress or skirt. Looks like you're good to go!
Wore the dress to work today, I put a black blazer on top, not quite bf style as it is very fitted, but I rolled up the sleeves and put the belt on top with a scarf. I took a pic which I will post later. Thank you for the help as always.
I really like that dress. Where is it from?
I have not worked in an office for a long time but I would say the tights help make it more office appropriate. I think if you just have one or two skirts/dresses on the slight-ly shorter side, in a more relaxed office, as long as you take measures (such as with your tights) to make them more modest, you'll be okay. Not the best sentence structure, sorry.
M2T, I love the dress, and you made it look very work-appropriate. Is it cool enough to wear tights in your area? I'd be curious to see the picture with a blazer - I bet it looks awesome.
It looks great and if it is a more casual office and your supervisor wears shorter skirts, than it is definitely work appropriate. I am also very curious to see it with the blazer.
Jean - the dress is from Next, I got it a few weeks and so far have it a couple of times with leggings and flats. Marianne - it is only just cool enough for tights. Actually this morning I felt cold so it was perfect. When it got a bit warmer this afternoon I just took of the jacket and had short sleeves which was fine.
here is the picture showing the jacket over it. Hope I get the seal of approval as it has already been worn!! lol!
