Warning Angie - you may want to look away!

As you may recall, I thrifted these kind of crazy capri pants last week that were completely wrong in terms of length and leg fit (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....me-explain) but I loved the fabric and pattern so took a chance the Wonder Woman could do something with them.

I got them back today and couldn't be more pleased! When I took them in, she suggested a cropped length (not Bermuda) so as to maintain the integrity of the pattern, which she also loved. She also tapered the legs from mid thigh down so that they have a much slimmer fit. I know there will be some that will still dislike the pattern and that's ok with me - but I love these and plan on wearing the heck out of them!

I also got my Nordie's order today - duplicate pair of Wit & Wisdom skinnies and this fab little yellow leather faux snakeskin clutch with cobalt blue zipper. I'm in LOVE with it - and so is Gain, as you can see.

Bless Wonder Woman! She has hemmed these shorter than most of the crops I've seen in stores - yay that she does not drink the Kool Aid there. I am going out on a limb to predict that Angie will be pleased with the capri length.

What is it about cats and fashion? They definitely know what they like!

Oh yay! I wanted you to preserve some of the pattern too. I think, lol! Who knows what I said the other day. ANYway, I love how they turned out. It seems Wonder Woman has a good eye as well as a good hand. Does she make house calls by any chance? To other countries? I can't find a single warm bodied referral for a seamstress or tailor.

Shannon, I'm confused. Why would I not like these cropped pants? These are EXACTLY the style and length that I shout out from the roof tops! They are a 10.

Angie - so sorry I confused you! I was reasonably sure that the length was good. It was the pattern I wasn't sure you'd care for - they could be seen as frumpy maybe.

I thought of the J Jill blouses too Rae. Never thought about the dotty blazer - will have to give that a try. I will also need to come up with some sleeveless/short sleeved lightweight options for the hot days.

These pants look terrific and are helping to change my mind about crops. I especially love the way they look with the orange flats and top. (And where is orange kitty in this picture?)

I know you are another petite like me and with crops and shorts you would think this outfit wouldn't work but somehow it works brilliantly and there is nothing stumpifying about it. I have noticed you are very good at getting the length right lately (your white bermudas worn today, for example) and now these. You are hitting that lower leg sweet spot. Has it involved a lot of experimentation or is WW behind this?

ETA -- love love love the clutch, why didn't I see this at Nordies when I was there on Tuesday?

Wonder woman's done a truly wonderful job too. Perfect length for your proportions! What about a silvery grey (sweater?) or something emerald to pair with those pants. I like the idea of gauzy white too --- like your lace top from the other day maybe, with some of your lovely retro jewellery or a belt? Yellow should be lovely with these too---as pretty as a daisy, and of course the same blue as that zipper on the clutch...

Denise - getting the length right on the cropped pants has come from experimenting, posting and getting feedback from everyone here, as well as Wonder Woman's input. She seems to have a very keen eye as to what works. It's also as a result of staring at myself....sounds strange I know, but I literally put them on, cuff to certain lengths and stare in the mirror to see what visually doesn't cut my legs off. I had also posted a keep/toss thread a while ago with my black crops from last year asking Angie about the length. She totally approved of those so I'm trying to pattern all future crops based on that length. I'm finding about two inches below my knee just where my calf starts to widen is my "sweet spot'. Still leaves enough of the shapely part of my leg showing and I'm beginning to think that's the key. BTW the clutch was on the website as part of the anniversary sale so there may not be any left.

Manidipa - wow, thank you so much for the fabulous top suggestions. I'm going to play in my closet later with your ideas. I'm also thinking the oatmeal/yellow striped sweater that Inge pointed me to with the clutch - that's three patterns but I think it could work.
