printed tunic with or without vest?

I posted this tunic a while back and recently wore it in a new way.

I realize the shoes in the last picture do not look great, comfort was key because of commuting and teaching. Is too much going on? I posted this outfit in what I wore and am having second thoughts. I need to keep both vest and tunic but maybe they are better separately? Thoughts? Thanks!!

I may end up going against the tide, but I like the tunic better with the vest than without. It pulls everything into focus and makes your long lean silhouette stand out.

I'm less certain about the shoes; I think a good point was made in the previous thread about the open mary janes not being the right look with the tunic, but I'm not sure what else would work. I like the shoes in the first pic; maybe they would work even better with the faded look of the jeans in the 2nd pic than they do with the dark wash of the first.

I like it better with the vest, too- but without the scarf. There is a lot of pattern because it's so long, and the vest breaks it up. The tunic, vest and necklace would be a pretty combo.

I think the tunic looks great either way. It's just two different looks. The first is a bit more dressy - more appropriate for a dinner out in the city. The second is more of a daytime look - appropriate for commuting and teaching.

Wow, I love the tunic! It looks great on you both ways imo.

However, I do agree that the scarf in the 2nd outfit combination throws me off a little (maybe because the swingy scarf and swingy sleeves in close proximity are a bit much?), so I'd prefer that combination with just the necklace.

I like the tunic both ways and agree with Shiny that the first is a little dressier and the second more casual. I think the scarf with the vest is one item too many.

I like the shoes from the first outfit and I actually like the shoes with the second outfit. I've only managed to jump on the forum sporadically recently so did I miss something about mary jane shoes? I wear them all the time.

I love that tunic on you and I know I'll be the dissenter, but I like it better without the vest. Having said that- it's still not a bad look with it, I just like it better on its own.

The first flats seem prettier, but comfort is important and there's nothing wrong with the mary janes.

I like both looks, and I also prefer the vest look without a scarf. Or maybe tie the scraf in the back? I think the shoes work. I love all your outfits from the other thread, too!

I love the tunic! Great colors and pattern. I like both, but I think it would look better with only the vest in the second picture.

I was also thinking it might look good alone with a light colored hip belt cutting across.

I love the tunic. I prefer it on its own, with that great necklace you have on in the first pic, or else with the scarf OR the belt but not both. The hip belt idea is an intriguing one.

I got a comment about the shoes looking like gear in another thread , I am not sure about that but am wondering if they read that way to others. I am very shoe challenged. I love boots because I can be stylish and comfortable. I am a very active commuter with long walks to the train.
I cannot bring myself to buy uncomfortable shoes. I like the me toos everyone wears but they are too narrow. I am not crazy about really bright colored shoes or shoes with bows. I love gladiators but fear they will be out of fashion soon. I know that I am not the only one with these issues. Anyway, I am comforted to know that you also wear maryjanes.

I also like both outfits and both pairs of shoes. They are different looks. When doing lots of walking I also wear mary janes. They seem dressier than Converse and just as comfortable.
