Wishlist Items
I haven't been shopping much lately, due to school and lack of time and money. I've really enjoyed coming to the forum to see what you ladies have purchased recently and how you've incorporated it into your wardrobes. Since being trendy and trying new things is a big part of my style, I feel like my wardrobe has gotten a little stale the past few months and I feel a little "blah" getting dressed everyday. I can't run out and buy everything I want right now, so I've wittled it down to a few items that I would like to try and get this fall/winter season. Here are my top three wishlist items:
1. Doc Marten lace-up boots (I can't decide between white and black).
http://www.endless.com/Dr-Mart.....c%20Marten
I have been kind of on the fence about these, but then I've seen so many of you stylish ladies sport these, I really want to try them for myself. I hope they are not too tall for me.
2. DKNY Cozy wrap sweater.
http://www.dkny.com/nshop/prod.....tColor=438
I found this in a gorgeous green color, and I'm really hoping it doesn't sell out before I am able to purchase it. Sarah has this in black, and it's so beautiful on her, I hope she posts outfits with it soon.
3. "Tweedy" funnel neck jacket.
http://www.martinandosa.com/we.....=1820_0243
I haven't tried this on in person, it could either be really cute or too "blousy" for me, since it has that bomber jacket type feel. I could see wearing this in a lot of different ways, though.
Okay, over to you all. What are the top three items on your wishlists that you are planning on purchasing over the next few months?

Great idea Ana, I definitely want to do this, too. I think sometimes the ability to go out and buy anything anytime isn't the best option either. I have a very mish mashed wardrobe and haven't taken the time to work things together before I add something new.
So I definitely want to think about this and add my wish list items. I do know that I'd LOVE to get another Cozy. I've worn mine twice now (in two different ways) and love it to pieces.
I love this types of posts :)
Ana, VS has a much cheaper knock off of the Cozy, that I am thinking of :

My three items are these:
1. M&O skinny velvet pants in kettle brown:
http://www.martinandosa.com/we.....=1506_4711
I have an old pair of ON skinny cords in the same color that is terrible quality and ripped at the waistband after couple of wears, but I found the color to add great versatility to my otherwise grey/black wardrobe. So these should be a replacement.
2. Me Too Lulu flats in purple:
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....rchresults
I have been swooning over these for a while. Chances are it is too late to wear them here already, it is rainy and in the 40's today.
3. J Crew cashmere turtleneck in either hydrangea or sea green:
http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Brows...../99166.jsp
Another replacement, I had an aqua one from two years ago that developed tons of holes somehow over the summer and I am so bummed about it :(
I'm currently on a shopping ban for the month of October, and since our weather has finally turned I am seeing where the gaps in my fall/winter wardrobe are. My top three item are:
1)Jeans
I currently have three pair of jeans. One is a darkwash bootcut hemmed for heels (which I don't wear very often, but still want the option of wearing), one os a pair of wide leg jeasn that still technically fit, but no longer are flattering since my recent body changes, and one is a pair of skinny jeans that are reserved for tunics due to whiskering at the thighs. I need a solid pair of dark wash jeans for flats.
2) White button down shirt
Not the most exciting piece, but it will allow my other pieces to work together
3) cream coat
my coat from last year is too big and I need a new one
I need bang for buck right now and this is on my list:
1. Little Black Dress - I think I am the only woman in America who does not own this yet. Somehow it eludes me. I did find a perfect one at Black House/ White Market in spring of '08 but passed and it has haunted me since. Still on the hunt....
2. Pair of premium denim straight leg jeans in either midnight blue or black. Does not have to be premium as long as it looks and behaves that way (in other words, Banana Republic would work)
3. Pair of low wedges in black that are actually comfortable and can be worn with everything. Got a pair at DSW but in my trial run around the house they are rubbing on the top of my foot....not so good.
Fun post!
I have a million items on my wish list, but I have a definite top 3 that I keep stalking for sales:
1) A bright wool coat. I sort of like this one but I think it's too short for Chicago winters: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....hoppingbag
I want it in lemon or purple.
2) Hunter rain boots. I want them SO badly but they're quite expensive for rubber shoes... I've found some on eBay for around $30 but they're "blooming" which means they have those white scuffs from the Hunter wax. I'm not sure if I mind that too much but I would prefer them to be in nice condition. I want them in merlot or green or navy...
3) I want this wrap dress: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....hoppingbag
Alas, I probably should not be buying anything. The rain boots might be a necessity, though.
Alright, so here she is:
1. Black slouchy knee high boots (I love Tanya's new ones) http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/30.....hoppingbag
2. Blue mid-calf slouchy boots
3. A poppy orange (orangey red) wool coat
http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Brows...../17983.jsp (in ember)
4. This blouse http://www.bluefly.com/French-.....detail.fly
5. Big pearl ring
6. Black booties
7. Black pumps (not peeptoe)
8. A black, ink blue, or plum handbag for fall
9. An umbrella that's "me" - I have yet to find one
I'd much rather shop for clothes than shoes anyday, but I have plenty of clothes and definitely could stand more shoes and accessories.
Good thread Ana,
I can totally see you rocking the white DM's.
I'm looking for a black and cream stripe sweater to wear with trousers, similar to this one
http://www.asos.com/Gap/Gap-Ne.....;clr=Denim
A relaxed black pencil skirt, I have been looking for my pencil skirt for a while. It must be machine washable, the fabric must feel/ look nice and it has to allow for a reasonable stride when pusing the pram.
Black flats, I have yet to try on the two pairs which came top of the poll, but here are the finalists

FOR MARIANNA
Before i start on my list, Marianna all Hunter boots bloom even the more expensive ones it's just a Hunter quirk. This can be removed with this http://www.easy-wellies.co.uk/.....p-195.html and it can be prevented by storing them in a cool dark place. Mine bloomed terribly when i left them in our utility room which gets a lot of sun but i now store them in the bottom of my wardrobe. I think the blooming protects them cause i had a pair of wedge wellies next to them in the sun and the glaze on them has crackled they look awful. PS have you seen the glossy boots http://www.wellieboots.com/pro.....gton_Boots i'm in love!
Wishlist
1)Surprise surprise a shaggy waistcoat!!!!!
2)Denim shirt
3)A Pair of duo boots, i particularly like the ones with the flower appliqué which boof and someone else here has x
*sigh*. Such pretty things everyone has posted. Love it all for you! (Ana, check your inbox).
At this time of year, my wish list is so long I’m embarrassed to share it. My dominant season ladies. I guess all I *really* want is that red Valentino handbag. I can dream can’t I?
Nice thread!
Louise, thanks for letting me know! I might as well save some money and purchase a much cheaper pair on eBay and just clean them myself. I've seen the glossy ones -- LOVE them too. It's storming here today and my lust for the Hunter rain boots has skyrocketed. I'm really trying to resist ordering them but I'm finding it very difficult. :P
Wishlist:

I don't know that I can justify all 3 of these but I will probably at least splurge on the first two because I know I will able to sell them on ebay next year. And then I plan to be done with maternity shopping.
Oops, I meant to add Ana, that I want you get the DMs so I can enjoy them on you. ;) Maybe you can just have them altered if they are too tall.
I'm not asking for much (well, maybe I am). Just the perfect cream puffer coat (see thread!).
Wow, great lists, ladies! Thanks for posting, I'm having a lot of fun looking through the items.
Tanya, that cashmere turtleneck sweater is on my list, too! I actually wanted the Hydrangea color as well. :D Sometimes that blue can look good on me, with my hair blonde. Maybe it will be one of those elusive colors that is good on both of us and we can be sweater twins!
I have not searched at all yet but as we are just hitting Fall weather in SF Bay, I haven't needed to do cooler weather outfits much.
Grey denim. Boot cut is usally my style of choice.
Low heeled boot or bootie to wear with trousers/denim. Dark brown, burgundy or black.
Casual military style jacket. I was thinking grey but really taupe or even tan would be better.
Pant length trench. Replacing an old favorite pink trench coat this year.
Print tank or t for layering under cardi - inspired by todays blog post :)
Awesome thread!
I am looking for a good pair of brown suede tall boots in a 16" or larger circumference. These are my budget busting pick:
http://www.anthropologie.com/a.....oduct=true
Grey Skinny Cords for tucking into boots.
http://www.ae.com/web/browse/p.....=0328_2605
An edgy wool jacket (I would remove the belt from this one)
http://www.ae.com/web/browse/p.....=0382_1352
And lots of embellished T-shirt blouses, and a couple boyfriend sweaters.
Ooh, Ana, I love that M&O coat. I so wish I could wear funnel necks but with my short neck, I end up looking like a bobble-head! Alas, no funnel neck coats for me!
My wishlist is not so big as it was last year. The riding boots have really opened up alot of new looks for me so I can really "remix" with many of the items that are already in my closet. Here are a few that I would like:
1. Perfect sweater dress - I am hoping the J Crew one (see http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ter-dress) will be it but there definitely seems to be some other possibilities out there so I will be keeping my eyes out for one.
2. I am not sure how Angie feels about these, but I love the J Crew toothpick cords - would like to pick up a pair in the dark grey color. I think they would look great tucked into my boots as an alternative to jeans.
3. One new look cardigan - wish I had bought the BR merino BF cardi last winter. I had it in my hands so many times and kept putting it back (even when it was marked down to $11 during the sale madness!). Now I am having a hard time finding one I like as much and that fits as well on my petite frame.
Beyond that, there is nothing that I absolutely need though I am going to be looking at some tunics to wear with skinnies + boots as well as a leather jacket (returned the one I bought at NAS). Especially with the jacket, I've decided that I am going to take Jean's advice and just wait for the perfect one and not make do with a "good enough" version. If I don't find one this winter, it won't be a terrible loss. I also need to think about replacing my short wool coat though mine will probably make it another winter so I'm waiting to either fall in love or snag a great deal.
Great lists everyone!
Shana, a word of caution about J crew cord pants: I got two pairs last year (different cut, but i assume the same material) and they stretched out pretty bad, so I got rid of them. But it could be just my bad luck.
I've heard similar things about J. Crew cords. I think Sarah owned a pair. Sarah, if you see this, how did they do?
It's fun to see everyone's lists! I am not buying anything big, but if I do go back to work, I am definitely getting Tanya's EM boots and more dresses... and maybe a new wool coat, but that wouldn't be until after-X-mas sales.
Marianne, I'd like to get a new wool coat as well, but I'm going to wait until the sales, too, since it's so warm down here. I probably wouldn't need a new one until then anyway. :)
Tanya & Ana, thanks for the info on the J Crew cords. This has not been my experience with them - I've had at least one pair of J Crew bootcut cords in my closet since the 90's! Honestly, mine have never stretched out - though I have always replaced them when they started to look too worn. My most recent pair - bootcuts in sea salt from last winter (Angie's influence of course since I would have never dared to wear white/cream in the winter otherwise) still look great despite constant wear!
However, I have never had the matchsticks or toothpicks which I believe have a higher stretch content so who knows. They might be more likely to stretch out. I will consider myself warned!!
Thanks for the review, Shana. That's good information on the J. Crew cords. I believe Sarah had a pair of the toothpick cords, but I can't remember now, since it was last year. I like the look of the bootcut cords a lot.
