which necklace? - YouLookFab Forum

I hope this is the last time I have to bug you all about this outfit. Which, if any, of these necklaces is best? they could all be worn shorter or longer... The last pic shows the full outfit if that helps. It's not the best pic of the outfit- the dress seems to be laying funny, but it was the one with the best lighting. I want your opinion on the hose as well.

I set out to find micro fishnets with no success today. Instead I found a larger weave at Kohls (Vera Wang) Will that work, or should I go with sheer black if I can't find the micros? My husband and son thought they were fine, but I don't want to look like a streetwalkier...

Angie- I know you suggested a tarnished silver choker- I have had no luck finding any such thing. I'm intrigued by the idea and want to try it out. I might have time after Christmas to do a bit more looking, but I'm not sure a choker would be the best look for me.... When I tried these necklaces worn shorter like a choker, I wasn't sold on the look. Stuff up high on my neck seems to add weight to me.

Queenie, my daughter and I have come to a consensus: we vote for necklace #1 for the following reasons...

Necklace #1 works as a statement piece, yet the construction is delicate enough so as not to overwhelm the dress details. We also like that it dangles a bit lower - you mentioned being wary of jewelry that rides too high on your neck.

Necklace #3 is our second favorite. It's definitely a striking piece, but hangs closer to your neckline.

The brooch is absolutely beautiful! We're still leaning toward a necklace with this dress, however. But that might be because DD has been on a long, dangly necklace kick lately. (it's so much fun having DD home for the holidays to talk fashion with)

Gorgeous dress! All the necklaces are pretty, but I think I like #2 best. I can't see the hose closely enough on this monitor to have an opinion, but from what I can see, they look nice.

#2 - from what I can tell the stones or crystals are a lighter brighter color than the the others - I like that.

I really like how necklace three sits in the space. I also like how it repeats the black from your shoes. Could you pin the brooch to a clutch bag for the wedding?

I prefer no. 3. It's bolder as Marianna mentioned (I like that, too) and the length and shape looks very good with the dress´ neckline.

well that really complicated things- LOL
Hubby and I had narrowed it down to necklace number one. Somehow the delicateness of that necklace seemed to work for us.
Necklace 3 seemed a bit harsh to both of us, with number 2 being a bit washed out. I liked the idea of the brooch too, but felt that I needed someting to fill in my chest area. My son told me it looked like a grandma anyway- LOL. Gotta love kids.
I think the biggest problem is that I'm not 100% sold on any of them. What I see in my head I have yet to find in any store. To me all these necklaces are pretty, but none make a statement. But maybe a statement isn't needed....I'm hoping to get out either Saturday or Sunday and maybe the change of scenery will turn up the perfect necklace (we're going to LA for Christmas)

Thank you all for your input and votes- I do really like all your input. I think though that the fact that there is not a clear winner tells me that I need to keep looking....

One last question about my legs.... I haven't found micro fishnets yet, but did find a larger weave fishnet at Kohls (vera wang) I'm wearing them in the full length pic. If I can't find the micros, should I stick with sheer black or wear the larger weave?

Oh, and at my sisters yesterday I found a cute vintage looking black choker and earrings in her collection. She said "isn't that outdated? I said- that's what I'm looking for- LOL) so I'm going to try that and see if it works. (She also had a black wrap that she let me take. Gotta love sisters

too flapper looking? i'ts actually more of a black ribbon look with little beads hanging from the bottom edge.. and has some pewter color stuff on the ribbon part that tones down the harshness of the black (IMO) Does that sound like it will work at all? Sorry I can't get a pic posted right now...
