Which belt do I choose - YouLookFab Forum

Ok, so Angie thought this LBD was the best choice for the Mardi Gras event I have Saturday night (there will be dancing etc but most people don't dress up much apparently-jeans to dresses). . I found an inexpensive clutch in siver that I thought would be a good choice and and several belts I need help with:

I will probably wear these boots, as they are the most comfortable dressy thing I have that will work with this, should I wear a micro fishnet or is it ok to go bare legged

Oooh what a pretty dress and the fit is right on. I like the stretchy Calvin Klien belt, the thin red belt, and the zebra belt best. I'm leaning towards the zebra print. All the other accessories look great too. You look beautiful.

first choice, animal print..
second choice is tied between the red and the silver calvin klein. the red could be a bit wider, but I like the pop of red and the ck is a nice belt, but doesn't provide any contrast with the other metallic accessories.

I think I would nix the other options

Another vote for the silver Calvin Klein belt or the zebra print, with the red belt coming in third only because of the narrow width. Your dress is such a great fit. You look fine with bare legs and boots, but I know I'd feel more comfortable in microfishnets or sheer black stockings.

San Queenie and Joy: Thanks for your advise. There was a little bit wider (like 2 1/2 - 3 inches) red belt I could have gotten but didn't, do you think that would have made a difference?

I think the red belt would be fine, but yes a tad wider would be even better. I think also I'm being thrown off by the loose end hanging. can you loop it around to hold it in place and add some more dimension to the belt?

I like all of them, but my favorite is definitely the Calvin Klein.

Queenie-I actually like them all and can't decide. I think you are right about the red belt, I tried that trick that Angie posted about long skinny belts, but it didn't work, I think because it is too stiff. I didn't realize how nuch work it was going to be to get me dressed up!

I like the stretchy zebra print from Target. It's got a good width, the stretch hugs your figure and the print adds a bit of fun without being matchy-matchy with the clutch.

I like the animal print because of the clean lines, and the red because of the pop of color.

I think your coat is on the wintery side, but would you be taking it off once you get there? Then it wouldn't really matter. Just for fun, have you tried your long denim jacket with the LBD?

I prefer the skinnier belts...probably the silver looks a bit dressier but the red is fab too!

When I saw the first outfit, I thought wish she had a red skinny belt without looking at the rest. The outfit with the red belt almost made me scream "yes!" in my desk. So I think my choice is obvious. You look great in this outfit no matter what belt BTW!

I vote the animal print. Looks great.

I like the zebra print and red belts the best. The metallic belts are very pretty, but I don't think I would go with all metallic accessories if you decide to go this route. Maybe a pretty red clutch to add some color.

I too much prefer the skinnier belts and red would be my #1 choice :0)

Angie- thanks for helping narrow down the options! I think I might keep the Calvin Klien for the future, just because it could be pretty versitle and maybe the animal print from Target.

Do you think I should wear hose with the boots, or do you think bare legged is ok? Also the coat, is it ok or do you think the longer dressy jean coat I have might work better? Thanks ccele for that tip and remembering my other jacket! This is a photo--
