What to wear tonight at a 21st party

Im going to a 21st birthday shes a girl shes having it in a brewy pub near the water its not a formal wear but the pub rules are to wear good shoes so im thinking to wear my black/grey jeans with a checked blouse with a black cardi,with shoes or with a white cardi? and me black shoes and what bags goes with it? I need some help if it looks good or not?

Hi Vera, and welcome! I like the first outfit the best, very cute. Those pants in the last one are very difficult length that looks good on almost no one.

As for the bags, I really love the last red sparkly one, it is gorgeous. I would definitely choose that one. The cream one is very pretty too and would also go nicely with the outfit.

Hi Vera, welcome. Another vote for the 1st outfit, I think it's perfect! I like the pairing of the jeans, blouse and cropped cardi, and you accessorize very well with the shoes and necklace. I like the suggestion of pairing this with your red bag. Have fun!

I couldn't quite make out the bottoms in the 4th picture - are those cropped pants or a long denim skirt with a slit? In either case, this is not a flattering length and you might want to look into shortening them to clamdigger length. Your full length jeans look soooo much sleeker!

I go for outfit number 1 too. And all the bags are lovely but perhaps the red would provide the best contrast.

Agreed outfit 1! With the red bag for a pop of color.

I don't like the long black cardi because it ties at the neck. I think it would be much more flattering to tie around the waist, or under the bosom. Tying at the neck seems to loose your waist.

I'm very curious that a pub has a "good shoes" rule. I've heard of "no shirt, no shoes, no service" and places that require jacket and ties for the men, but not a "good shoe" rule. Is this because too many people show up in sneakers flip flops and Uggs or something? Is this common in other parts of the country (we don't have such a rule here in MA)?

(The rule makes sense to me... I'm just curious!)

After I replied above I read in the who's who that you are a fellow Aussie! Somehow I thought you weren't from the USA (actually my guess was that you were from the UK).

I don't know about the shoe rule though Shiny, as I don't go to pubs much.

A lot of pubs here have a no sneakers/thongs rule. This is usually enforced at night, but not in the day, especially for pubs close to the beach.

I ended up wearing #1 Everyone at the party liked my blouse and the black short cardi. Thats my fav cardi for now.lol. Btw i had a great time it was at night time yublocka . anne this pub was right on the sea we just had it outside having some finger foods it was quite nice never been there before also they had a disco on to.

Vera, I missed this thread originally, but I love the outfit you chose. I like how the cardigan hits you just at the right place, and your pointy-toed shoes are fierce! I agree with Antje that your jeans are a much more flattering length than the cropped pants.

Thank you Kari the jeans are so comfortable i think the cropped pants doesn't look good to but seeing on the pic you can really tell its diff looking in the mirror.
