I know it's been ages & ages since I've posted regularly, and I'm sorry. Life got crazy busy. I'm trying to finish up my tax clients, sell my house, orchestrate a move to a city 2 hours away, look for a job, and enjoy the summer. It's crazy.
As I said, we're going to be moving which means I'll be looking for a new job. I just sent off my resume to a head hunter/employment agency specializing in accounting & finance jobs, and dh & I are going to be in the city we're moving to for another appt on Monday, so I suspect I'll have some type of employment related meeting/interview on that day as well.
My current office is business casual, but I usually dress on the more business side of things. The jobs I'll be looking at in the new city will be more business formal. I just thrifted a gorgeous silk black & cream graphic printed pencil skirt. I don't have time for pics, but the closest I could find online was here http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_1.....921x00003d except my skirt is black with cream dots, and the band at the bottom of the skirt has a pattern as well. I have a great fitting black blazer to wear with it. I'm not 100% sure what color blouse to wear under the jacket. I figure I can't do white because of the cream in the skirt. Would a softer, more pastel color be better, or could I go for a bolder color? The bolder color would be more 'me'.
I don't currently have a 'real' suit and can't really afford one right now. I've been stalking the thrift store & have picked up a couple of good pieces. I could wear my black blazer with my charcoal dress pants. I have a hard time wearing black jacket & black pants for a couple of reasons. One is the fear that the blacks won't match, and second, I just don't like that much black. I also have a charcoal blazer, but it's got some military styling (epaulet type tabs on the shoulder, and a tab in the back with a gathered section below the tab) and the military styling doesn't seem formal enough for an interview.
Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks!
