What are your most persistent wardrobe holes? For me, it seems to be trousers and shoes. Yesterday I bought a rack so that I could organize my shoes a little better, and looking at my shoe collection confirmed that the reason why I don't wear some items in my closet very much is because I don't really have the right shoes.

I tend to walk around town a *lot*, and I really need shoes that are suitable for hours of walking on concrete. But it seems that in the last few years shoes have either been so incredibly flat and flimsy that I might as well be barefoot, or they have sky-high towering heels or totally impractical platform wedges. Boots are usually better but I don't have very many casual flat-ish shoes that look right with a skirt and bare legs. My trusty old mary janes have been worn so much that they are literally wearing through on the bottom.

So, I've quit looking for clothes for the moment and am instead on a quest for some new shoes. I have my eye on a pair of sandals, and I'd like to get some loafers, fashion sneakers, Chelsea boots, and a decent pair of flats. I haven't yet spotted "the ones", but I'm on the hunt.
