I think the shoulders are ok - you can best judge that - but sleeves look a bit long. Nice friend to pass it on!

Yep- sleeves definitely look too long. Cute jacket- if the shoulders bother you (I think it looks ok) I read that sometimes you can change out shoulder pads in an outfit pretty easily. Just a thought.

I agree that the sleeves look too long, but the jacket overall is very sharp! I like it. The shoulders look okay, but they do change your proportion; your shoulders look larger than your hips (but now I guess you just look like me! :P). Just something to be aware of, you can probably go either way with the pads.

I really like this jacket, April. The colour and cut are excellent- very sharp. If you can, I'd shorten the sleeves a touch, the like others have mentioned. The shoulder pads don't bother me at all. They're coming back, so I think this jacket just looks slightly directional. Very cool.

Oneirix, you've got it -- my shoulders are wider than hips. If you lay a ruler straight across my shoulders and then hips, shoulder measurement is 25% wider.

I will definitely get the sleeves taken up. What about the waist -- does it look boxy, or is the shape more in the realm of "boyfriend"?

I like the jacket as is. I tend to prefer the sleeves on my full sleeve jackets a bit long so it looks perfect to me. How do you feel when you wear it April?

Welllll, Sihaya, I haven't actually worn it yet since it was a hand-me-over from a friend and I couldn't decide whether it fit correctly.

So, do you think this a "boyfriend" style that should be left as is, or should I have it taken in a bit?

I actually like it as it is, long sleeves and all, could you roll up or cuff the sleeves and wear it with a white buttondown and vest? i think you could make it work.
