Wedding attire-Sunday day wedding

Hi,
I am attending a wedding in April on Sunday during the day (10:30 or 11 am ceremony, reception immediately following). The wedding and reception will be at a country club on Long Island.

I'd like to wear my black dress because I am most comfortable in it and it travels well (I live about a 5 hour drive from LI and am planning to take public transportation there...either bus, train, or plane). It is similar to this one...

...but I am under the impression that a black dress is inappropriate for a daytime wedding unless I add some color to the ensemble. I am looking for suggestions for ways to add color...I don't have any shoes other than black that would match. Any suggestions you might have would be great. Also please let me know whether you think I am better off wearing a non-black dress. That is also an option.

I'm no expert, but maybe a nice belt, bag and / or some bright jewelry?

I don't think black is too bad if it is short; a long dress I feel may have been too much.

It's a knee length dress. The problem with a belt is that the dress has a wide band at the waist which draws the dress in so I'm not sure if a belt would work. The link isn't the exact dress.

Another thing I forgot to mention is that I wore this dress to a bat mitzvah with the same people 6 years ago. Is it wrong to repeat the dress? It is a simple black dress and it was 6 years ago so I can't imagine people would remember I wore before...

I'd say go for a chunky necklace, a colourful bag, and some great shoes and you'll be more than set. No worries about repeating the dress.

I wouldn't worry about repeating the dress. Just add colour (which colours do you like best/are flattering on you?) to your outfit with jewellery, a bag and shoes and you're good to go.

Mellllls i don't think it's wrong to wear the same dress again especially if you feel fab in it, perhaps refresh it with a different bag or shoes to the ones you used last time x

I think a non-black dress will be better, but you can still pull off black if thats easiest for you.

I can see a lightweight pashmina wrap with a hair accessory (this is hair dependent) that compliment one another, nude shoes so the leg looks long & alluring, and the handbag either in the neutral or the compliment to the wrap.

The problem with repeating is not so much that people might remember you wore it before (doubtful) but the photos that live on forever. If you are fine with looking the same in both sets of photos (I probably would be), go for it.

How about a colorful cropped cardigan?
