I LOVE AMSTERDAM. It's my favourite Euro city. The architecture and canals are so very unique. The food is divine, and the historical significance is sublime. So very cultured. The perfect mixture of old AND modern. It's killer.
Oh goodness. Where do I start? Must eat pannekoeken, rijstafel, stroopwafels and have lots of tea with cake every day at 4pm. It's a Dutch tradition.
Must take bikes out on a ride. Everyone rides bikes in the Netherlands with kids and dogs in tow - in REGULAR clothes. It's very safe because there are bike paths next to the roads.
The Von Gogh Museum is by far my best. And the Anne Frank House is a must, although very depressing. You need to get to the Anne Frank house early and plan ahead because it gets very busy - and they only allow x-amount of people to tour the annex at a time. You climb right into the tiny attic where she hid from the Nazis with her family. It's going to give you goosebumps.
I love to shop at De Bijenkorf. The Negen Straatjes are fun too.
Must see the Red Light District. But be careful. Do not go off the beaten track. It's not safe.
The markets are divine, so is just about everything else.
Pack me in your suitcase.
