Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Trying a patterned shirt

I would like to introduce some pattern into my wardrobe and I picked up this top to try. I would not wear it on its own, but do you think it works as a layer? I am a little concerned it might be too "grannyish" and I am not sure if I can get away with the collar. I usually avoid mandarin collars, but this one seems a bit lower.
By itself, just for reference:

Any thoughts are welcome. I can return it if it doesn't get approval :)

Marianne,
I truely love this top!! More important I LOVE each and every way you layered it!! Nice job:)

I think the reason this top works well in this pattern is because it is a bit sheer..very cute!

I love it all ways too, even on its own. Definitely keep.

Not grannyish at all! I love it! It's a lovely pattern and the colours look fantastic on you. I definitely think you can wear it on its own too and I love all three layered outfits as well. You are keeping it!!-)

Beautiful design. I LOVE it with the waistcoat. The color looks great with your dark hair.

I love the shirt, and also all the ways you wore it, especially with the vest. Not granny-ish at all.

Btw, where do some of you wise gals get those cute animated avatars?

I think the shirt looks best with the vest or on its own. It seems like a great pattern for you with your hair. No granny look for you. BTW, what brand jeans are those-(If you do not mind me asking) they look GREAT on you!! I have yet to find a pair that really fit, all of mine stretch out eventually no matter how well they fit in the beginning.

Thank you for validation, ladies!

Tanya - I made the avatar here. It can be quite elaborate.

Thank you for the compliment, Jean! The jeans are 7FAMK regular bootcuts. I picked them up at the Rack earlier this summer. They were VERY tight when I bought them but relaxed quite a bit and I am pretty happy with them so far.

KEEP! Gorgeous! This is a great pattern because it's geometric and black and white - so versatile, as you've shown here.

So funny... I've been lately focusing on adding more solids into my wardrobe... since I have so many patterns... but seeing this, it makes me want more patterns... LOL.
