Took one for the team - KS dream trench

Hi all,

So I decided to pass by Kate Spade and see the trench of my dreams in action.
Here is a picture for your viewing pleasure.
The trench is very theatrical, it flares out dramatically and is very structured. It would not work for my life, but this will be the perfect trench for you Angie (cough, cough).
I thought I will pass along the info. for those currently stalking it.

i like this in concept. but for me, it's not as practical as a basic well constructed trench.

yes, very much so. I bet this puppy will go on sale at the end of the season though. I would never be able to afford it at full price.

I got my Kate Spade black ruffle trench on sale but it was still my most expensive clothing purchase. Worth it though! I'm planning to wear it for years, hopefully decades.

I got a similar style cream and black cropped trench on sale for $99 at White House Black Market. I agree, the color is not very practical, but it looks nice!

You really have impressive restraint, Zap! I wouldn't have dared go try something knowing I loved the very look of it and knowing I could not have it.

That trench is stunning! I actually had a shorter trench very similar to this one, but when I went through my closet, I found it had disappeared In my family we swap clothes fairly often , and I think my niece has it now!

Wow, it is very dramatic, and looks moreso on the bod. At least now you know it wouldn't work for you. The scale is also a little overwhelming - here's to finding something similar that is perfect for YOUR life.

I actually bought that trench - and it's amazing. My stomach was absolutely churning as I clicked to complete the order, but my guy is the one who justified the purchase. He reminded me that I've been looking for a trench almost exactly like that for as long as we've known each other (over a decade), and that I have already had an unsuccessful attempt making it myself. And then to my 'it'll probably go on sale at the end of the season' - he replied that if I waited until then, I might not get to wear it until next year - assuming they still have my size.

The down side is that the only time he's ever this encouraging about big purchases, is when there's something even more expensive that he wants for himself. My guess is that it's probably something guitar related. In any case, I think I'm done shopping for a LONG while.

The trench arrived a bit wrinkled from being folded in the shipping box, but once I've ironed it I'll post some pics. I was hoping to wear it this weekend, but it snowed!

Zap, you do look gorgeous in those black-and-white dramatic coats! She tried on one at a consignment store that was just amazing on her -- I'm kicking myself for not getting a pic!!

I have tried it on too (cough, cough), and it's soul sucking beige on my complexion :(. If it were white or cream tipped with black, it would be mine.

Angie - Really? the color looked almost cream to me. I am hoping she inverts the colors ( black with beige piping) that would be superb!
