Those both look great, and very versatile! I think #15 and #16 are my favorite party looks, and #10 may be the most sophisticated and elegant I've ever seen anyone look in denim on denim.

Both of these pieces are fabulous, Claire, and you've show how amazingly versatile they can be for you. I actually like the tails of the chambray shirt. The feel of a tencel blend is so nice, too.
Both are absolutely keepers! You look just as beautiful as can be in all these pictures.

I can't keep up with reading and answering many threads ATM but was very interested in your newbies Claire!
The cream sweater is just beautiful on you- FAB!
So glad you have also found your chambray shirt- I have one with split tails also so will study all your stylings carefully.

Shirley and Angie, I must have cross-posted with you both before I left for the banquet. Thank you so much! Angie I'm not surprised you like the more minimal outfits.

Sveta, good idea about the low contrast. I usually break up my black or white with something in the middle so it blends with my own contrast level.

Shevia, thanks for your insight. I think I could roll my blazer sleeves down and simplify outfit #8. Ditto for the one over the striped shirt (#3) that some of the others weren't crazy about. I was worried that leaving the chambray shirt sleeves down it wouldn't look "fashion-y" enough. It seems we are gravitating toward more simple looks these days.

LBD, thank you! I actually wore #16 tonight (DD requested I wear my sparkly sweater). I wore my long khaki trench on top because it was pretty cold and I was worried about my newly cleaned cream jacket in a restaurant where ketchup bottles live on every table.

Pil, too funny. I am surprised that the denim on denim came out as well as it did. It bothered me that they were an "almost-but-not-quite-perfect" match. The brown boots and belt helped to make it work. I seem to do well in mid tones like this because of my own mid to low contrast. Hmmmmm. For my own favorites, it would have to be the cream on cream looks. As soon as I got them on, I just felt radiant. I also love the ones with the scarf and black blazer. They make me feel vaguely equestrienne.

Gigi, thanks for your thoughts. I will probably try those outfits you mentioned with the sleeves rolled down for a less busy look. It should be warmer, too!

K, The K! You are too sweet. Yes, I can easily to a semi-tuck in back with my tails. I think DH is on the same wavelength as you. He kept asking me if I could tuck the whole shirt in (and I can). It even works tucked into my denim pencil skirt for summer. I just didn't want to overload you guys with ALL the pictures.

Susie, Missey and Alasse, thanks for your votes.

Suz, I'm glad you weighed in (hope your Mom is okay tomorrow and that you're not packing a bag right now). You always say the nicest things. I hope you are right about the jeans. Already I'm noticing the legs of the white and black ones bagging out. Bummer! They are the non-AGLs. (White are CoH and black are Joe's). Oh well you win some and you loose some. The reason I'd like to layer the chambray shirt over thin sweaters is partly to get my neck covered a little without using a scarf. The shirt itself provides some extra warmth too, and having a collar helps. We'll see how often I actually do this and how well it works. At least no one will be able to see the pills on the striped sweater this way, lol! I am just LOVING the clutch, thanks.

Thanks guys, I can't keep up with you!

Thank you Rae and pmc.

Aubergine, how kind of you!

Marcy, mwah (big smooch). Thanks!

Lyn D. I'm so honored. Thanks, we can be split tails sisters.

Did that all come out from your 10 item wardrobe????????????? You look smoking hot in ALL of it!! I am jealous you found such a brilliant chambray shirt. Lol! I don't have a prob with the shirt tail and jacket here. (Usually I have a poison eye for it!). No 17 has to be gorgeousness exemplified!!!

Wowie Zowie! Look how nice the two new pieces play! The chambray adds an effortless chic casual vibe to your classic pieces. I can't get enough of your sequin sweater, especially with Ms. Celine.

The exposed shirt tails look fine and #17 is my fave okala look.

Gah, you are killing me with your FAB minimalist wardrobe! Kudos!

Claire, most definitely keep both. Your stylings are brilliant and I love your close up, you are one gorgeous lady:). I would love to go I to detail on each combination but seriously I can sum it up with, if I may be so bold, Killer on each account. You have really honed your style and it's working for you xx

favs are 10 and 17. They all look great Claire. I'm not a huge fan of the tail hanging out but it's not a deal breaker. I'm having trouble coming to terms with shirts longer than jackets.

Both are keepers, in my opinion. I like all the outfits. You ARE the remix mistress, after all! It's clear you needed a chambray shirt, and this one is a great find. The cream sweater is just luscious on you.

Stunning! You look so incredible in cream & black. Both of the shirts fit perfectly into your wardrobe & life: go you! hehe

Sorry, Claire, I haven't seen your previous thread, but judging from these picties, both are more than fab and keepers!!!!! When pairing the sequin jumper with the white jeans, you could put under it (untuckjed) the denim shirt for breaking up and add a bit of distance between the 2 whites. Think will work beautifully and I'm so happy for your finds!:-)

Stunning on all accounts! Those are both to die for, and work SO WELL in your wardrobe!

These are so completely utterly fantastic Claire - there is simply no question that you have fine tuned your fashion skills to near perfection! Love every single outfit!

YES and YES!!! These are all fantastic stylings Claire but #17 just knocks my socks off. Absolutely GORGEOUS!

Wow. You are such an inspiration to make clothes WORK for you. I love the tails of the shirt. I find the long sleeves in 3 and 4 distracting, but other than that I love every single one of these outfits. I can't believe you wear denim on denim so elegantly - and look at how gorgeous you are up close, lady.

I'm favoriting this thread to remind me to be more CREATIVE and find lots of ways to use my clothes!

Agree that all are beautiful. My personal favorites are 10 and 16. Love, love those!

Perfect additions, Claire! I love every outfit, you are the queen of minimalist wardrobe remixing for sure.

I like the chambray best when layered, full stop - tails or no tails. The cream is really versatile. I'd keep both.

17 is my fave! I love them all though. The new chambray shirt is stellar!

These are both fabulous! I'd keep them. They work well with your other pieces. My favorite outfits are the ones where a scarf is involved (no surprise).

Claire - your refinement is just so amazing. I love both tops on you in all their outfits.

Claire, is is the difference in colors between the sweater and white pants? - or the silhouette of the two items together that doesn't feel right?

Claire you are one cool classy chick! I think all the outfits are fantastic, will definitely be referring back to these photos for inspiration.

Well, I love all of these. Also, I have to say that even though I've seen several your WIWs, you are younger and thinner than I realized...so jealous!

wow! You look gorgeous in both and all of the styles! I wouldnt change anything! Like AlaskaGirl, I think I am going to favourite this thread(Just discovered I could do that)!

You guys are making me blush! Thanks so much.

Marley, if you happen to come back here, the answer to your question is yes. The jeans are optic white and the sweater is definitely cream. I tried wearing them together with a white belt, then the scarf you see tied in my loops as a belt, then with pearls (to bring more white up to the neckline--but every time I see my beloved pearls in a picture, I always decide the outfit looks better without them) and with and without my cream jacket. Every iteration just looked WRONG. I've heard the knack of making whites and creams (or navy and black or brown and black) to play well is to bring in lots of different textures or a print. Since I don't want to buy another piece to try to make these work, I've just resigned myself to not wearing those two items together. Although I am toying with dyeing my jeans with a strong batch of tea. I'd prefer it if they weren't so bright white.

I haven't read through all the other replies, and I really love the denim/tencel shirt on you also, but, WOW! SEVENTEEN! SEVENTEEN! SEVENTEEN! Yes...I'm "yelling" it in caps lock...but it's just SO good! Love the mix of the dressy Okalas, the moto jeans, the sparkles, and that gorgeous white jacket! So fab. Your remixing skills are amazing!

Such great outfits! You're inspiring me to review everything on wardrobe essentials. You look fantastic in those creamy white colors, and all blues.

Hey Claire - finally got back to your thread! So, its the colors of the 2 pieces that don't look right to you when put together? Do you have a belt or shoes or handbag that are half-way inbetween the two colors? That might help pull them together? Or, you could post it - and we could all give you ideas on how to make it work!!!!!!!! (Doesn't that sound like fun????

Or - we could just confirm for you that they aren't working together.
