Target/Merona Sheath(?) Dress - Yay or nay?

I've been looking for a sheath dress for summer, something not too expensive, just so I can take it for a test run per se. I found this dress on sale at Target. Question is, does the smaller size (first three pictures) work better or the bigger size (last two pictures)? The smaller size does seem a bit snug but fits well on top with no gaping arm holes and extra cloth bunching. The bigger size is not as snug but I will have to either get the arm holes altered to not show my bra or always stay covered (which would be 95% of the time anyways).

I think the larger one is more flattering on you. Super cute! Love it with the tights and spectator pumps.

I think I prefer the larger size also simply due to the shine on the material. If the dress was more matt I think you could rock the smaller size. I very much like the detail at the neckline.

(P.S. The MK zipper skirt came today. Looks like I have another reason to get to goal, LOL. It's extremely snug!)

Julie, you're right! I was wishing it didn't have that little sheen, but id didn't occur to me that it might be detracting from the fit. I really like the detailing at the neck. It will work great for me because I'm more of a chunky bracelet kind of person

Thank you Inge! I love that hose too but apparently even Spanx can't hold up to heavy use. It's starting to develop little holes, but no runs so far thankfully!

Thank you Dusty, Jean, Louise, Kim! I'm trying to be more handy with the needle (I do have experience) so I'm going to try and see if I can't take it in on the top myself. The side zipper might be a bit of an issue though.

Vani, you are gorgeous and will be in the smaller size soon enough. I'm also in between sized with many brands. Don't you wish they sized for the 7's, 9's and 11's of the world?

Kristin - I did the same thing with that MJ skirt. I got a 6, and even though I wear a 6 in a lot of brands, MJ bottoms run incredibly small for me.
But that spot top I have? it's a 4 and still quite roomy. Grr.

Thanks Marianna! I've never been tempted to spend too much on nice dresses from target simply because I would rather save and splurge on quality and fit. But this one was on sale, too cute to pass up and perfect for a summer test run !

I can't wait to style it, especially with all that inspiration from all you sheath rockers

Vani, you look great in a sheath! I love the detailing around the neck and think the larger size would probably be more comfortable for you if you are able to make the alterations. You're right, that dress is too cute to pass up, especially if it's on sale. Score!

Oooh Vani great dress! I agree with the others....go the larger size. Then you have the option of layering it or not. Can't wait to see pics of how you wear this!! (hint hint)
