first of all I KNOW I LOOK HORRIBLE in these pics.... I'm almost embarrassed to even post, but I want feedback on these 2 items. Only my husband and best of friends ever see me looking this bad, so consider yourselves my friends

denim jacket (gap) This seems real boxy on me- I didn't feel that way in the store though. hmmm, is it the dress underneath? do i need to try a small?

Kim, the dress doesn't look bad but as far as the fit and cut go, I feel like you can do much better. That purple looks fabulous on you though! I like the wash of the denim jacket but it looks you could size down.

Queenie, I also think the cut of the dress is not very flattering. I think you can find something much better.

As for the denim jacket I like it a lot. Perhaps you could post a picture with another top underneath? It does look a bit boxy, I'm not sure if it's the dress or maybe the camera angle or the jacket itself.

Love that purple on you. The small looks the best fit, perhaps swap the belt for a different one? I'm never sure how denim jackets are supposed to fit so i'll pass on that one x

Hi Queenie. I feel so unqualified to comment, but here I go anyway. I think the dress in the smaller size is okay, but a different, and I think wider belt would look better. And the jacket, I think it needs more shape to it. Maybe a size down would do the trick. I have a denim jacket which I bought 10 years ago in Italy. That should probably be a size smaller too (I would never have realised this before ylf!) but I love it anyway!

hmmm, I'm on the fence about the cut of the dress too... I thought A-lines were supposed to be universally flattering.
THanks Julie- I acually look better in the pics than I did IRL- I adjusted the exposure while editing the pic and it really helped me out
I'll try the jacket in a small and mull over the dress for a while.

I love the color of the dress on you, but I'm so-so on the cut. I think you should try a smaller size in the jacket.

I don't care for the dress. It's not bad..it's just not great. And you always look great. I'd like to see the jacket with a different outfit or possibly in a different size.

okay, the dress is going back. I soooo much appreciate everyone being so honest. It is actually freeing to know that something isn't fab and I can take it back and keep looking.

I'll post another pic of the jacket later today-- I am looking much better today than I did last night

I agree that the dress isn't bad... just not great.

Personally, I am not a fan of the jacket. Too boxy. Maybe too big. Needs to be tailored to fit your waist better, I think.
