Styling Red Slouchy Pants

Happy Sunday!

Struggling a bit to style this pants with what's in my wardrobe. Pants are flat over tummy, not pleated and would prefer not to tuck

Does this work?

I'm wearing a vest with a little peplum over the blouse. Blouse has black pussy bow.

I have re tied the bow so it's smaller and the ends hang lower to the bottom of the vest.

Just trying ideas do haven't added any accessories at this point.

Wow Deborah, I think this looks pretty good! I don't have any suggestions for improvement. You probably won't have to add to much in the way of accessories, either, maybe just some earrings and a ring?

I love that shade of red and the grey/black is a great way to set it offf. I can see those pants with a white button front tucked in and the vest over it as an alternative.

I'm not completely sure on this. Maybe with the vest unbuttoned? It creates 2 very disparate horizontal lines otherwise. I like the idea of it and the elements play nicely.

Dianthus, I'm not keen to tuck with these pants but I do like the idea of a white button down... but maybe not tucked under the best..thanks I hadn't thought of a white shirt:)

Hmm looks like I may have to "get over myself" and at least try a semi tuck!! The other option is a high low top??

Love the black dots and vest with the red and proportions seem fine for untuck. Hilo top sounds very interesting with these. Rock that red!

Great pants!

Some ideas: tuck the dotted blouse when wearing with the vest so there are fewer horizontal lines. It could just be a tick of mine, but I am always obsessing about tops that end exactly at the widest point of my hips.

Try the pants with a white button down.

Try the pants with some booties or trendy shoes.

ETA: just read the other suggestions. If you dont' want to tuck, what about an easy tuck? That is my word for loose tucking. Not exactly a sloppy tuck and not as deliberate as a semi tuck. You would need a silky flowy blouse for that concept to work, but it may be an easier gentler way to get into tucking.

I agree with hi lo top. Also, navy would look great with this shade of red. Just avoid white for obvious nationalistic reasons (and I'm not just talking about the US).

Denise thanks:). A lot of the girls wearing slouchy pants now are in the warmer weather and I am trying to style mine for Autumn/Winter. I felt the look was better with some of my foot showing. But that's not necessary and a bootie could work? I will try your easy tuck and see how that works, but I am veering towards the hi lo option I think:)

I would like to see you tuck into these trousers too, Deb. I quite like this combination, but would prefer it sans the double layered tops. Stronger that way.

Anna, thanks so much for the links:) I do have a jacket that might work. It is technically blush pink but it's so close to cream. I have also been looking at a grey/silver hi lo dressy sweater to go with the pants.

The issue is mine are not true slouchy pants as they are flat over the tummy. When the slouchy pants finally hit our shores, I may invest in a pair.. these were a DIY job.
