As promised a quick report on these shoes for a larger, wide in bone structure (but not very high volume) foot...

The initial impression: the gold embossing on the taupey leather (suede?) underneath is super lovely and delicious (DH didnt care for it... said "that just doesnt strike me as a $1,000 shoe... it's not a $1,000 shoe anyway but what does he know?) Each pair was fairly well made but I did find a small glue overage or misstitched few stitches on them. Nothing I would consider a dealbreaker, if the shoe fit though. The leather was super soft but the synthetic lining less so and there were places where the leather was pulling and folding a bit because of my foot shape. I think these shoes would have been a keeper for me if the lining was a soft leather that would conform more easily to my foot.

The fit... I think many people would find a size to their satisfaction (there are a great many offered whole and half sized and widths narrow to double wide!) and the heel is very comfortable. I dont think these shoes are for me though, sadly.

The 8.5 W seems to look the best fit wise and I can wear it comfortably at 8 AM, but a 2 PM slip on to try it was definitely feeling uncomfortably tight. Like I would wear this if I had to be somewhere tomorrow but would be trying to get these off as soon as I could when I got home (ETA sorry forgot to add pic in order... pic 7 ) Even in this smallest size there is gap above my toes at the shoe's opening but at the same time they feel scrunched. Weird?

By 6 PM the 8.5 WW is pushing on the big toe (mine sticks straight forward (see pic, and is tall from the ground at the nail end pic 4) This makes for a problem because the ball of my foot doesnt lay at the ball of the shoe but 2 mm to the inside of it so the big toe pushes into the larger area of the shoe leading to an unsightly bulge in the leather there and a wrinkley gap where the ball of the foot should be seated. Pic 5 (size 8.5WW)

Size 9W (and this could just be the particular pair of shoe) isnt tall enough in the toe box and rubs noticeably on the top of the big toenail area.

Size 9WW feels great in the toe box, I do not like my toes to be pushed on by the shoe AT ALL and this size delivers but is huge in the heel (even though I can walk without it kicking off believe it or not!) It looks like I've gone to play dress up in my mothers closet when I put it on my non swollen feet the next morning.

All said I would recommend this shoe highly if you can find a size that works with your foot shape! Hope this helps!

I htink I am declaring a strike out
